I don't think he's running. The job he's getting is one of the top jobs in the country for those in public university admin. We've talked about it with our coaches but the same will be true for our admins - including Benson. If they do a good job - it is likely they will be poached. Him taking this top quality job will help recruiting the next president. We're becoming a viable stepping stone which at this level isn't bad thing.

Wow. That's a terrible approach. It's not about putting up barriers. It's about protecting the university in the event the coach does leave. Now we'll likely have to pay incremental costs for recruiting fees and likely a buyout of someone else's contract who had a business minded AD or a better legal review. Hire that assistant quickly.

To me it's not about the W-L record vs last year. It's the way we've played. Multiple shut outs and some against bad teams. And the god awful to watch offense. 15 passes yesterday. You aren't going to get butts in seats at Casey Stadium like that.

Player/coach relationships will ebb and flow with Ws and Ls. It's what happens after this season that will show you what he's made of and the players he's recruited. The great case of the disappearing rushing game is what is our downfall right now. If you can't run you can't throw. And if you can't run or throw you won't score points and you're defense will be on the field too long which is exactly why we're getting housed.
