I think what I heard over the PA system thru the rain Sat. was that the scrimmage would be 2:00 this Saturday, before the football game.

Does anyone know where the scrimage is going to take place? And is it going to be intersquad or are they bringing maybe a D3 team in to place against?

Since there's a volleyball match at 7:00, it will almost certainly be in the RACC. My impression, since there was no opponent mentioned, is that it will be more of an open practice.

I think it will be similar to the last one. the squad is split. I assume it's in the RAAC, it wasn't finished last time.

I don't think this is being fan friendly at all.

 

Why is it so hard to get information out to the public?

 

People will be posting soon what do we have to do to develop fan interest - maybe we should try to inform the fans that the team is playing.

I must be misunderstanding something. Isn't Saturday the first day of practice? How can we hold a scrimmage on the first day?

I'm pretty sure they held a scrimmage the same weekend last year. It was more like a split-squad pickup game coached by the assistants. If I remember correctly the only public announcement of it last year was a brief in the paper the day of the scrimmage although I think we heard about it here before that.

Albany, N.Y. – Fans can get their first look at the University at Albany men’s basketball team on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the annual Purple-Gold Scrimmage. The event will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Recreation and Convocation Center (RACC) prior to the home football game with Sacred Heart. The 14-player roster will be split up into two squads. The teams will play two shortened halves.

 

UAlbany coach Will Brown, who will be available for a question-and-answer session with fans following the scrimmage in the RACC Hall of Fame Room....

Am I reading too much into this or has someone been dropped from the roster? The announcement regarding the scrimmage mentions a 14 player roster, but the roster on the basketball page has 15 players. I know that Lillis is hurt but he is still on the roster. What gives?

well i would think since Lillis is still on crutches, since ive seen him around campus, hes not playing.

Interesting, I'm almost positive that when I looked yesterday he was still on there. Oh well.
