Our next award for this season...Coach of the Year. Remember, if you choose other, please tell us. I think this should be a good debate. Keep voting for Game of the Year! Tomorrow will be Female Athlete of the Year.

Losing the following athletes to graduation:

Gered Burns - All-American, multiple conference champ

Marc Pallozzi - All-American, multiple conference champ

Robbie Freeman - IC4A champion, multiple conference champ

Junior Burnett - 9x school record holder, multiple conference champ

Justin Collishaw - 3x IC4A qualifier

With the following conference champions, world junior qualifiers, and conference leaders hurt or on the sideline during conferences:

Gabiy Lopez - Long jump champion 2007

Felipe Reyes - Long jump leader 2007, National HS Champion

Freddie Wills - Decathlon, Long jump champ 2006, Triple jump, High Jump

John Moore - 800 pan-am's bronze medalist

Pat Weider - 3x defending 200 meter champion, 100 meters,

Danny Avery - over half a second better then the rest of the conference in the 110 hurdles

Joe Greene - run only 2 races all year

Ricardo Estremera - 3k Steeple defending conference champion

Michael Lynch - shotput runner up, discus runner up, hammer top 3 in 05,06,07

David Parker - Heptathlon conference champ, Pole Vault, High Jump conference scorer

With all these people out, Roberto still coached the team to win the outdoor title by 32 points. Truly amazing. And yet again, they got snubbed for coaching staff of the year in the coaches poll. He has my vote.

After voting and looking at this list, I am really amazed at the quality of the coaching at UA. Dr. McElroy has done a fantastic job on hiring and keeping coaches.

This is the major reason we've been able to accomplish so much with so little in the way of facilities. I can't help but think this athletic program will be truely special when we get the facilities it deserves.

That's quite a list of MIA's. Do you have any status updates on any of these?

Lopez, Reyes = disciplinary

Weider, Estremera, Lynch, Wills, Moore = redshirted

Parker = graduated

Greene = still hurt but competing

Avery = coming back for the last meet I think

Sorry to get this thread off-topic but do we have any T&F athletes that will qualify for either the A or B standard for Olympic Trials in June?

I'll be in Eugene to watch and I'd like to see their events, if any.

I'm heading out because my nephew qualified for decathalon (although he just blew out his elbow in practice and can no longer compete - Tommy John surgery next week :glare: ). He's a soph at Florida, so he'll be ready for 2012.

Yes. He's my nephew.

It is now a waiting game to see how many entries they get.

The list is here of those who hit the A and B and have submitted entries:
