Not a lot of info there on the injury status.

FMDane - have you heard anything on Drew Smith's knee?

Keep on eye on Connor Dixon at WR for Duquesne. He torched us for 300+ yards as a QB in 2008 and has since moved to WR. According to the Delaware fans, they think he has a legit shot at WR in the NFL. He's obviously a tremendous athlete and apparently was smoking the Delaware DBs all day. They just don't have a QB with a strong enough arm to get him the ball. Their QB is a scrambler. If we can keep him in the tackle box, he'll have problems.

I stoppoed by practice the other day and Drew was practicing and looked fine ! I did not see number 5 out there although . We need to average more than 8 and a half points a game or we are in trouble. The offense needs a spark!

Good to hear about Drew Smith.

Now lets just hope we get the O-line back in tact and can score some points. I'm hopeful the two drives against SFA gave our passing game some confidence. Add that to a solid running game which we know we'll have and I think the offense will be fine. But yes, we certainly need to score more than 8 points a game. That's for sure.

Breakfast with coaches Ford and Engstrom today.

Drew Smith is about "95%", Poore at 90%, Savini has a broken bone in his hand, but everybody should play against Duquesne.

Homecoming tailgate party this year will be on the field south of the Science Library, overlooking the football field.

Brooke Stanley had her knee surgery this week, has already put some weight on it, and is talking about coming back for next year.

MJ spoke of how at Florida their two matches were before and after a Gator football game, so they got a police escort to get to the arena for the second match. Yale was willing to play two matches here, but MJ wanted one at their place so her young players (8 or 9 sophs and frosh) could get used to playing in front of a very nasty crowd - Elis research opponents and get very personal with their taunting. She thought we might have beaten Clemson with Brooke instead of a freshman at setter.

Thanks for the post UA.

I wonder if we going to be able to park up there for homecoming? Hard to tailgate if you aren't anywhere near your car.

This is the VC tailgate party, music and food provided. They probably figure at homecoming as many or more people have to park in the Dutch or Indian lots anyway, and this location will get more students who walk from the dorms, than a party out of sight behind the gym. This is also the function conceived for this area in the Project 2010 plan. Maybe they want to see how it works to make it a permanent use for that big lawn.

speaking of tailgating. Anyone been to Duquesne. What is the tailgating situation. From the website it looks like you are supposed to park in a parking garage not far from downtown and not far from the igloo or whatever the hockey arena is called now.

Doesn't look very welcoming.

Tailgating

Tailgating on campus is prohibited. This includes but not limited to open containers (alcohol), charcoal and electric grills are all prohibited on all University property and garages. University property and garages are patrolled by University Police; anyone in violation can be subject to fines and/or penalties.

So have fun!

Your analogy is preety much in line to what I had suggested months ago when everybody thought I was nuts!!!!!!!! Would like to see Leathley get some reps each week to keep him sharp! Any word on Tremaine Wilson for Saturday , if he's not playing this a good chance for Dillon to get a good amount of work.

Thanks. I hadn't seen that. Maybe I just walk the mile or so from the hotel and stop at Pirmanti Brothers or something else on the way.

I haven't heard anything further on Wilson.

And I wasn't as sure about this team as you were but I think you were definitely right. This group of players we have in the system now is the best we've ever had. That's for sure.

I'm not so sure how I feel about moving the tailgate away from the actual tailgate for homecoming. I know they want to get more students involved, but doesn't it make sense to have the VC and students tailgating with the rest of the people in the RACC parking lot or where ever else they decide?
