Edit- Whoops- UA72 beat me too this...

Not a chance. 24 teams are in the playoffs. We need to get to 8-4 to get in the conversation, and that would include a win over Stony Brook and Delaware. Our wins are not strong enough IMHO to get us in...but it all depends on how the rest of the bubble teams do down the stretch.

Now, if somehow we were able to get those two wins (very tough to begin with) and an upset over UNH or 'Nova...well, we'd be in GREAT SHAPE. Really great shape.

24 teams make the playoffs, eleven autobids. This was probably our best win of the year, so I think we need three of the next four to get an at-large (that is, beat one of UNH or 'nova).

I just watched the replay, and I think Fiacchi had a pretty good day - 9 of the first ten were completions, one drop right in Gontarek's hands, the INTs were a harmless Hail Mary at the end of the half, and after a blind-side hit that was first ruled incomplete (until our first-ever official use of replay at BOFO). One overthrow down the left side the announcers thought there might've been interference, which would've thrown the timing off. Maybe Colgate's coverage wasn't as good as he's seen, but I don't know how he could've had a much better game.

Forgot there are four games left.

To show what we're up against to make the playoffs, here's one guy's field from AGS (just his opinion, and there's a month to go, but a concise summary)

North Carolina A&T at William and Mary vs 1. North Dakota State

Richmond at Eastern Kentucky U vs 8. Montana State

Jacksonville at Bethune-Cookman vs 5. Coastal Carolina U

Bryant at Fordham vs 4. UNH

South Dakota State at Southeast Louisiana vs 6. Jax State

Indiana State at Chattanooga vs 3. Illinois State

Stephen F Austin at Cal Poly vs 7. Eastern Washington

Liberty at Yougstown State vs 2. Villanova

Autobids(11): Montana State, CCU, Nova, NCAT, NDSU, Bryant, Jax State, Fordham, Jacksonville, Chattanooga, SELA

At-Large(13): Ill. St., UNH, EWU, Richmond, YSU, Indiana State, William and Mary, SFA, EKU, Cal Poly, Liberty, SDSU, Bethune-Cookman

Bubble: Montana, McNeese State, Albany, JMU, UNI, SIU, SC State, UCA, NAU, WCU, Sacred Heart, Bucknell

And aside from pure merit, we don't have history or attendance in our favor. Of the at-large and bubble teams, we probably out-draw only Sacred Heart and Bucknell.

My hat is of to Fiacchi. After last year, I had pretty much given up on him; but I fully admit to being wrong. With King being pretty much in a funk all last year and pass protection poor at best, maybe last year was not all on Fiacchi. With two new stud receivers, a resurgent King, and a vastly improved O-line, Will IMHO has had a good year. That last drive yesterday was Will, simply willing us to win. I know his numbers are not extraordinary and he does throw a fair share of bad balls, but he has to be given (IMHO) a lot a credit for our turn around this season.

Coming out of high school where I think I recall he broke the state record for passing yards in a career and after his two years in the NEC, I thought we rally had something special; but after last year my hopes were say greatly doubted. Now, I am really ready to give him his due props. Over 6000 yds in FCS and hopefully more to come in the next month/plus.
