Baker Transfering

Recommended Posts

I can't imagine it's something to do with the team (not enough playing time, not winning, etc.). My hunch is its something personal like sick family (similar to when Will Harris left UVA to come close to home), wants to be closer to home, etc.

This definitely sucks. I thought he had the tools and athleticism to absolutely wreck this league with Cremo as his wing man in the back court 2 years from now (giving time for Cremo to develop or what not). Those two were supposed to be our next version of Sam/Peter.

I think this is purely based upon playing. Didn't get a ton of burn and with a lot of the team returning next year, plus the addition of Cremo, perhaps he thought he was going to be limited in PT - which he most likely would have been.

Thought he had the ability to light it up in the AE, but we have a log jam at the guard position for the next year. Perhaps in his eyes, he didn't want to wait until his Jr. year to see what PT he would get.

Edit: On Twitter, he RT'ed Kevin Ware's status "Change is good for everybody" on 4/1. Random, but Ware himself xferred from L'Ville.

When we won the AE chip, he was going berzerk. Don't think it was a Coach thing or chemistry. Seemed to get along with everyone. I'd bet it was purely playing time, and perhaps he knows that Cremo is better than advertised even.

Wow that sucks. He was my pick for most increased PT and possible AE POY his Junior and Senior years. I hope it isn't true or is a late April Fools joke.

I said it since day 1 - giving enough PT to a lot of the talent on this team this last year was going to be job #1 for WB and we might lose talent to transfer if he doesnt do it well enough

Agree, I think playing time is probably the problem. Hooley, Singletary, Sanders, Enemma all kind of in front of him BUT have some patience. Next year get more playing time and then be a star for two years as a starter. It's amazing that these kids can't wait. Who knows though. Maybe he wants to be closer to home? Maybe he doesn't like the coach or the staff (doubt it)? Could be so many things.

You do guys do make good points, I didn't realize we were so loaded on the perimeter.

Sucks regardless...probably wanted Peter minutes and that wasn't happening. Athletically, him and Cremo would have been insane. They'd run opposing teams ragged.

Oh well, it's not like we're losing a 15ppg scorer. We're losing the *potential* of a 15ppg scorer.
