1. Can you believe we're gonna be on national television at home. ESPN2 is going to be at the RACC. This is going to be so awesome.
2. Great Danes basketball fans, join Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings in honoring your America East Men’s Basketball regular season Champions, the UAlbany Great Danes, Wednesday, March 8th at 6pm at the Pearl Restaurant in downtown Albany. The price is $20 per person and includes refreshments and light fare. Call the Great Dane box office at (518) 442-4683 to make your reservation. Space is limited. Help cheer on your Great Danes next Wednesday night, March 8th at 6pm at the Pearl Restaurant on Pearl Street in downtown Albany.
3. according to the website, the school is giving the first 110 students who ask free tickets and a bus ride to Binghamton for the semi-final game on March 5. Just FYI. If someone already mentioned this, ignore it.
4. You know the crowd is into it when the opposing team is trying to setup an inbound pass from under the basket and they can't hear each other because the student section behind them is so loud.
5. very nice. Next stop, ESPN2 at the RACC.
6. The RACC looked almost sold out. There were alot of students there too. 4 more years.
7. Yes, IF Bing loses today, we need one Albany win or another Bing loss to clinch the #1 seed in the tournament, and the tie for the regular-season championship for the NIT bid. Now UH 35-26 with six minutes left. 11926 If UA and Bing tie for records in the conference, does the overall record act as a tiebreaker?
8. I hope your right. I'd like to see some more banners go up at the RACC.
9. when are they putting in the real seats, and how many are they putting in?
10. Any chance that a channel on Time Warner will pick this game up, or is it not possible? ESPNU needs to cut a deal with Time Warner, this is ridiculous. They need to drop CSTV and get ESPNU.
11. that's plenty of education. Most colleges have the same type of schedules.
12. Is there anything new about the stadium? I heard a week or two ago that there's supposed to be a rendering of the stadium sometime soon. I'd really love to see how it's going to look like in 3D.
13. so it's the 7th. Anyone know which channel the game is going to be on? I read the game is scheduled for 2/18 at 1:00PM but it didn't say anything about which ESPN network it's going to be on.
14. Does anyone know where there are some large High Res pictures of last night, especially wide shots of the crowd and the floor. I want something to put on as a background for my laptop.
15. You're correct there. But I think just about anywhere you go, you're going to hear "(Name of Opponent) Sucks." It requires little thoughts while you're watching the game and it for everyone on the other team. Plus, no one in thecrowd isn't going to not understand it or screw it up...especially when you have so many "new" students fans at a game like that one. 11629 some people tried to start FU BU, but it didn't really catch on. I thought Sucks to B-U was pretty good. I also liked the Who's Your Daddy chant.
16. are the Racc rowdies an official student group? I think you can get more people if you made it official, and put out ads and have meetings and things like that. It should be done like this: http://www.wvu.edu/~maniacs/
17. I was in the campus center and I didn't see anything. I'll just try to get in on game night. I live off campus so I can't get it from Res Life. I'm sure they can pack in the student section to standing room only if it calls for it. You just have people stand on the bleachers to make new rows. Does everyone come in to watch the women's game, or does the real crowd show up when the men play?
18. as of tonight there's only 1,000 tickets left, I was just wondering if there are usually student tickets still available on game day?
19. I just don't see how a person falls out a 4 story window. It's just really wierd.
20. That will only happen when Albany puts some banners up in the RACC. Now I go to games when I'm not doing anything, so that's not a problem with me. But here's my idea. This is sort of like the trickle down effect. Make more alumni donations from your lucrative incomes that your SUNY Albany degrees provided you, which leads to better facilities, which gives talented recruits good impressions, therefore leading them to sign with Albany, and inevitably causing Albany to go to the NCAA tournament year after year after year creating a TV deal with someone better then TWCrap. Next thing you know, the RACC is being sold out every game and it's the hottest sports ticket in town (like Fenway). People begin scalping tickets for 100-200 dollars outside. Next thing you know, you're in the Pepsi Arena with the Saints a long forgotten memory or you're in a brand new 10,000 seat Arena near the downtown campus, causing the property values to sky rocket which means a massive restoration to that area eliminating the ghetto and consequently all the attacks that UAlbany students on the downtown campus take. It's a win win situation folks.
21. after bagging the courtside seats and the revenue they generate, scratch the hall of fame room and turn it into a student lounge, bump wyland and tobbin (they're taking up center court seating), and swap the sponsor billboards for works from the art dept. ... $$$$, you've got to have some coming in ... just some friendly banter to welcome you aboard UA09 ... go Danes 11284 I don't think they should go that far. I just think if you put the students on the court near the center, maybe you generate some more interest for the students. It could be a good time being so close to the action, and maybe students will start to look forward to having a chance to rattle the opposing team because they'd be right in their faces as they run by. I know that the 20 dollar seats generate good money, but I think giving that area to the students would be a nice gesture. Give them a chance to make that area a killer student section, and if they don't, go back to the 20 dollar seats.
22. they should get rid of those 20 dollar seats on the court and make that part of the student section
23. I know about the club team, and they moved their website, asuhockey.com.
