  1. Friends to the north? I have no friends at that school. I really thought Tony was classier than what I have been reading over there. I have now blocked their website on my computers here at home and vow to never give them the satisfaction of reading that crap again. Siena Still Sucks Like David Orek's eight pound Excel Hotel Vacuum
  2. That is it. I have had it with Siena and their moronic, jerk off, anti-Semite fans. The gloves are off and the Albany Cup game can't come soon enough. As S$ pointed out in an earlier post in this thread there used to be brawls in the stands at the Armory and the rivalry was fierce. I make this vow right here and now; I intend upon single handedly bringing that back to the game. You MAY beat us on the court but I WILL beat you in the stands! The thread over at the Siena board is in poor taste and I would hope that Tony has the good sense to edit out the aforementioned anti-Semitic post. I know that I promised a long time ago to keep it clean here but... SIENA STILL SUCKS! It's that simple.... It's not the score of the game it's who scores with your sister/daughter at the Lamp Post tonight!
  3. Thorpe you look great man! GREAT DANES DO IT DOGGY STYLE! (if anyone remembers that homecoming) SSS
  4. I could not agree more with this. I must I do miss hearing "a senior from Richmond Heights, Ohio, number 44 Wiiiiilll Brand" I know that we will be saying the same thing about "a junior from Da Bronx, NY number 31 Jammmar Willllson" years from now. I'm going to miss Levi Levine (pron La-vine by many out of town announcers) too. It was guys like Will, Levi and 110% Joe V. who helped build our house. How many days to midnight madness?? It has the makings of a long summer.... SSS
  5. Fox 23 reporting that Duell is going to $iena. Glad he is not coming here to UA as mentioned in previous posts. SSS
  6. Tim is a very smart guy, he teaches over on the 'East Campus' at the School of Public Health. He is a loyal Great Dane fan as I have seen him at every game I have been to in recent memory. He does however make a good point in his article. It is not dawn on me until I looked on the wall at my degree (circa 1997) and looked at the top of it. At that time it was the State University of New York, University Center at Albany. I know that our identity has morphed a few times before that and a few more after that. In my opinion it does not matter what the school was called when we graduated as in mine and Tim's (for his PhD) case SUNY University Center at Albany or if you graduated from the New York State College for Teachers in 1960 at the end of the day we all bleed purple and gold. That's what it is all about.... Oh yeah and SSS
  7. We left Philly at around 11:30 and Coach Brown was just getting on the bus. My guess is that they were on the road by about 12 or 12:30 so they should be pulling in up there around 6:30ish. SSS
  8. ... and purple at the end of the rainbow! WHY NOT US?!?!?! Leaving LI in a few hours. See you in Philly!
  9. I didn't realize that I was involved in this thread, but since I have been mentioned I should point out that the odds were included in a different thread as a bit of a "Well, isn't that nice" moment. As for UConn, they are the team with all the recent hype, but they do have a tendency to be complacent. After a difficult Big East schedule, including a first round tournament loss, they could be susceptible to as team (Albany) that is more team oriented, and incredibly well coached..... I'll be hammering the point spread, but probably not the money line (even though a win would be awesome). 13152[/snapback] Ok, I'm a moron and I am reading too many threads and I got mixed up I was actually replying to boisy and was reading a haggy thread..... I guess I would have failed the moronic campus quiz about Albany basketball... Sorry guys you have to give a fat kid a break this week I'm so pumped, can't wait for Friday! Haggy- I owe you one with whiz and sauce (speaking of fat) in Philly for incorrectly IDing you in my post. sss (which means super, sauced, steaks this week and not the other thing)
  10. Haggy- Of course I know that but if we can change the attitude and start thinking of them as 'just another state school' and not the doom and gloom of a sextillion to one to go all the way it's half the battle. Statistically speaking someday a #16 seed will unseat a #1. Stealing from old NY Lottery commercials "You gotta be in it to win it". The "in it" starts with an attitude. Just being overly motivational. sss
  11. Not for nothing here fellas but I was just thinking about this one... UConn is just antother state school and we beat a bunch of state schools in the Northeast this year. New Hampshire Maine UMBC Stony Crook Binghamton (even though they will not admit to being a state school) Let's put the icing on the cake and kick some Constitution State ass. Why can't we open a can of Capitol District Whoop-Ass on another state school? Food for thought... (or fuel for victory) I'm down with Brown on this one. Let's go to win! SSS
  12. Nice press for the board and the Thorpe (Who likes how Great Danes Do It Doggy Style) in the TU today. SSS
  13. I do love it when the school gets the students behind the team. Not to mention how President Hall always signs with President and Professor of History. Let's make some more history on Friday. Cheese steaks for me please! SSS
  14. A stolen but great quote... I will dole out some of the advise that I have been giving to other alums that have been calling me (many of them getting on the bandwagon for the first time): Do whatever you can to get to Philly on Friday afternoon. Even if you are in some bar near the arena, it will be worth the trip. Take a look at Haggyland's post about this.... My friends have been known to just walk right in like they own the place. To the undergrads: Take a road trip this weekend! Call one of your friends who goes to Drexel tell him/her that you are bringing 10 of your friends to sleep on the floor in his/her dorm room. If you run short on dough after spending it on St. Paddy's brew.... Find an alum, tell 'em you like your cheese steak with whiz, onions and hot sauce. I'd bet that one of us would buy you one. Can't wait for the dance. As soon as I know where my seats are I'll post and we should all "pre-game" as we used to say back in the day. SSS
  15. I have to admit, I joined today too! I am a true Coach Brown fan!
  16. Schedule will be announced in the AM if my info is good. See you all in Philly!
  17. Amen Sarge! Coach knows his kids and hopefully we will raise a banner at Doc Sauers Court with 700 plus wins for Will Brown. GET YOUR DANCING SHOES SHINED UP!
  18. I am going to try and log into live chat for Selection Sunday. Is anyone going to be around? Who is making travel arrangements tonight and how can we find out the Headquater hotel? SSS
  19. I found out yesterday because I was sitting in front of some student athletes that took his class last year. Myself and my travel partners know Jack from our days at Five Quad and wish him a speedy recovery. Could someone post the Gazette article. It seems that their site is pay to play. SSS
  20. I don't care where, I am there! Waiting for Selection Sunday to make travel plans. SSS
  21. I could not agree more about it being like the night before Christmas.... I have been on the phone on and off all day with alums shouting things at them like: "GREAT DANES DO IT DOGGY STYLE!" "LETS GET IN THE CAR AND GO NOW, I'll QUIT MY JOB" was the reply from DaneGuy04. We are so excited, see you tomorrow! Signing off, SCBN! SSS
  22. There is no question that this game belongs on our campus. Taking this to a neutral site defeats the purpose in the higher seed getting the home court. Secondly, I'd much rather see our school and program get the residuals on the conssesions, premium parking, merchandise sales etc. Third and most important, it belongs on Doc's wood. Previous poster talked about chucking that green hunk os $iena that Mike Breslin and the county guys have on Pearl Street and laying down our own for Doc. I say lay it down right where it belongs, on our campus. SCBN SSS
  23. The Caravan of 5 (including DaneGuy04) leaves LI at 7am with hopes of being in the area to meet our 6th by 10:30 at the latest. See you in the Brownsville Section of Albany! SCBN! SSS
  24. The AE Feed Sucks worse than that second rate MAAC team from the suburbs! Thank G*d the Fox Feed is working! SSS SCBN!
  25. Whatever it takes! I would sell my soul to SienaTony to get a seat for that game. Wait maybe not my soul just yet, I might want to wait for the post season tourney to pull that card (be it NIT or NCAA). Maybe there will be scalpers in the breezeway between the RACC and the PE building, that would be a true sign of this program really putting it's self on the map. When they have to put up signs like those outside Madison Square Garden warning scalpers of the state law..... SCBN! SSS
