Not to toot my own horn but this is my fourth bracket challenge win... All I do is win! 'till next year also-rans, thanks for participating! Now that you've had continued success we have to worry about you skipping to a bigger conference.

A little early to make that statement when we don't know who half the team is yet. We've lost a lot in years past and still were good. We might win 10 games next year. Just last week you were saying we would win 18-20 games next year. Where is that Eli? I want that guy back! So far we've lost a guy who played 10 minutes a game in Peters and a guy who played 0 minutes a game in McKinley. I 'm sorry to McKinley go because he looked like a promising player but I suspect we'll bring somebody pretty good in. What we really need is some recruits coming in with awesome youtube highlight videos. That will restore some optimism.

It will be interesting to see who they find and I have to imagine they'll look around. This is really the first big hire of the Benson era.

Former Buffalo AD Danny White is now at UCF. He seems to make things happen whenever he goes and probably was part of Coach Abe's decision. We all knew this might happen and is the price of success. Thanks to coach her time here and good luck down there. When she builds UCF into a ranked team maybe she can bring her team back here for a game?

UCF has a press conference for 1 PM today, supposedly to announce Coach Abe as their new women's basketball coach. I'm hoping this is an April Fools thing.

Tough break for Walsh. He seemed to be putting some nice pieces together with Vann and Devine Eke. Probably not a huge surprise that Vann was offered by Iona today. Speaking of guys leaving, one-time UAlbany commit Kenan Guzonjic is leaving Colorado after a year there. Apparently we've offered David Jelinek, a 6'8 PF from Get Better Academy. Also, Nathan Johnson has set up visits with us, Iona and Gardner Web.

That's good stuff. Hard to believe that we were his only college offer.

There's no argument, Great Danes are the best. That's why Nate Johnson should become one. Topic back on track.

Walter shoots over 50% from three. That is crazy. Weird that he's being recruited by mostly D2 programs though. Bad ball skills? Or maybe because he's smaller. I don't think DJ Evans had offers before he went to junior college either and I would take someone like him again. Same with Justin Robinson at Monmouth who didn't have any other offers.

I think it happened last year too with DaShawn Robinson. He committed and then a C-USA school came in and offered him. On the bright side, it's good to know that's the level we're recruiting now.

Some bad news and some good news maybe. We've been interested in Jaleel Wheeler but he recently committed to Tulsa. According to the interweb, we are looking at Nathan Johnson, a 6'4 guard from Florida who looks pretty good. Other schools showing interest have been Delaware, Murray State, Davidson and Indiana State.

The thing I liked was CB saying he reminded him of DJ Evans. That's not a bad comparison at all.

The timing of the SBU thing sucks for guys like Walker and Woodhouse. Both came back for Pikiell and Woodhouse sat out a year.

Ugh. I guess it'll be a big paycheck for a few years but otherwise it seems like a lousy move. I guess if he wanted to move then now is the time. Seems like there are two things that happened a lot when you have success in a single bid conference: Win at a small conference school, take bad big conference job, get fired in a few years, get hired at small conference school on the way back down. Or: Win at a small conference school, then stay there. Kind of what Bob McKillop has done at Davidson and Rick Byrd has done at Belmont.

Warney looks like he belongs out there but he's about the only guy for SBU. I'd taken our relatively close tournament games for granted these last couple of years. This makes me appreciate them a little more.

Admittedly I don't obsess about this stuff that much but I do remember CB saying he had a meeting with Benson where they talked about the future of the program and that he was very happy with what he heard from Benson.

Great season with a rough ending. Thanks to the outgoing senior class. I'm pretty sure Peter Hooley has won more games than anyone else at the D1 level as a Dane.

This. The AE, unfortunately, will never get higher than a 13 seed IMO...usually our AE teams are 14-16 with a couple 13's here or there. The teams that come out of the AE will ALWAYS have the 'pleasure' of facing the Kentuckys, UNCs, Dukes, Kansas', etc. of the world. Never say never. Northeastern was an 11 seed a couple of times when they were in the conference and won a first round game. I think there may have been less teams then though.
