To me...it was Timmins and #92 (I think Timmins is 96) who did all the damage. They were destroying our line and allowing the linebackers and safetys to get into everything.
Yeah, my eye was on #92; I think he blocked both field goals and forced a fumble.
My buddy was keying on #10, saying he was on or near the ball every play.
-
Anybody know who matched up against #10 for URI? That kid was involved in almost every defensive play, as his stats indicate:
17 tackles: 8 solo, 9 assisted.
1.5 tackles for loss.
0.5 sacks.
2 passes broken up.
I don't think I have access to a replay of the game (not that I am dying to relive it!)

Did not see any walking vendors.
Seems like one quick fix that is easily introduced.

Goalie is a true frosh from Berlin. She's nasty. Watched some of the game on Saturday.
Yeah, the Europeans are making serious contributions to the team.
Without Europe and Pennsylvania, we aren't ranked!
-
Personally, I'd like to find a Drew Smith #10 jersey or a #23 Osbourne jersey.
#32- Ngachie!

They were grilling for most of the game in the northwest corner of the berm, but with long lines from those concessions obstructing the sidewalk, they might need to tweak some of the logistics. Still, it is great seeing so much money change hands.
As somebody that didn't have a final number for ticket requests until early Saturday afternoon, forcing us to the visitor's side, I am forced to ask if there were vendors walking through the home-side stands.
Thanks.

Although not one of the more followed programs, field hockey won twice more this weekend, so their #13 national ranking should only get better.
They are currently one of only six undefeated teams in the country, and their next four games (in order) are against LCC, Lafayette, Lehigh, and Sacred Heart, so they have a good chance to be 9-0 when HOSTING a highly ranked Stanford team in a couple of weeks.
Also, their top two scorers are a freshman and a sophomore...

I was happily surprised when I saw the #40jersey hanging up in the gear store at the stadium as I have looked for one for years. cost 40 bucks and seemed to be decent quality. I scooped it up quickly. Would be cool if the school eventually gave us more options (number, home/away etc..). But a step in the right direction for sure.
The coaches' parkas this year also seem to be particularly snazzy (unless I was just too far from the action last year, and missed them.)

My critiques:
-They didn't need to be right at midfield. Come closer to the main section of the stands so we could hear them better.
-As petty as it sounds, I didn't like that the color guards flags were green.
Yeah, but Kevin had on a nice suit, right?
-
Also, Fiacchi at 17 for 36 for 181 yards?
That number should look uglier because his longest completion was a 43 yard wounded duck at the end of regulation on a "Hail Mary" that came up fifteen yards short of the end zone, and which wobbled liking a slowing top.

Great night; great venue.
I am tired from over-stimulation from last night so I will keep my observations short:
1) It was great to see the revenue streams last night. A beer tent with $7 beers packed for the entire game; concession lines 20 people deep on the concourse, and on the berm. Heck, plenty of cars were even paying $7 to park in Dutch quad.
2) The berm was packed, but I think the chilly September air drove some of the "fair weather fan" students back to their dorms at halftime.
3) Marching band? Cool to see them parade through the parking lot, but Skyfall by Adele? Yeah, not the kind of song to fire up a sell-out crowd, especially when they couldn't even be heard from 50 feet away.
4) Play calling and game result? Let's just say I hope we hammer CCSU next week.
5) I know I can get too focused on one player, but Ngachie got in the game and assisted on the only sack? Color me excited! I think I remember that play...fourth down, great closing speed?
6) Kicking game was blamed on unfamiliarity with the turf.
"Whatever" to all of it...that place was fantastic, and this program just took a major leap forward, with a trajectory pointing to a lot more coming....and sooner rather than later!!!
Heck, Hofstra dropped football a few years ago, right?

They are serving beer in the BoFo! Beer garden. Whoooooo Hooooo!!!
Enough positives in one day to drown out the one very large obvious disappointment.
-
Personally, I'm a fan of bofo and plan on using it moving forward in absence of something better.... To the BoFo we go tonight....
Oh, lordie, lordie, lordie...Me? I'm off to the Fordie!
-
I don't like BoFo, even though I used it once. I also don't like "The Bob" because Delaware's arena is nicknamed the same.
Didn't know that about Delaware...yeah, no nicknames the same as our rivals.
The Fordie? (Olde English could buy a sponsorship.)

(enter: degenerate gambling side.)
Do you have any other sides?
Tonight I'm looking forward to:
NOT walking through the old gym to get to University Field.
NOT having a lamp post in front of the scoreboard.
Being able to see the whole field
Watching a marching band at halftime
Replays!
Zing! For the record, I think we both know that I have many different personalities...
I am looking forward to seeing how much more revenue we bring in with concession sales and apparel. This is a big step forward, and I want it to be the talk (and garb) of the town....I have noticed a lot of chatter this week, but I was responsible for a lot of it.
Other than that, there are too many other things to think of to put a smile on my face, so I plan to just enjoy the game.
And in case anybody was wondering, I walked down near the retaining pond last night, and the kildeer population is healthy...and there was a grouping of about a dozen mallards.

GAMMMEEE DAY!!!!!!!!
#13 in the country field hockey? Yup, big game at 1PM!!!!!!!
BTW, one of the only complaints I have for today (hopefully) is asking if they really had to host an LCC field hockey game right at football game time...or was it done purposely as a rub? (That I could appreciate.)
-
All right...I have to ask this. Is this "BoFo" abbreviation becoming the preferred designation?
I know it is better than BFF (as in best friends forever), but with Bank One Ballpark (the "BOB") changing its name in 2005, that nickname seems to be available again....but then again, we might not want Bob87 thinking it is for him.
I am just glad it isn't called the First Union Center...that abbreviation was tragic.
So, DP, we still thinking alike?

About to get in the vehicle to take the drive from Boston! Cannot wait!
Wow...early start! This place really is going to get rocking!
-
Maybe the other stadium side?
Maybe the other side with a packed house?
-
I feel partly responsible for your Duquesne loss so I'll help you save some money. It could be more than 20. Its not crazy to think it. Emotions and a packed house.
I think it might be safer to just sit this one out, for I'll take 18 and URI if you want some side action (enter: degenerate gambling side.)
-
I am still reeling from the financial blow that the Duquesne game put on me, but I just noticed that UA is a TWENTY point favorite for tomorrow's game.
Now I love UA and all, but 20 points seems like a big number.
-
Same here...same here!!
And where are the Dane statues. Yikes, I sound like Haggy.
Nice. I almost just spit out my late lunch.
What can I say? I need to see things to believe them!

Did anyone get any information on Friday's tour other than the box office e-mail saying to stay tuned for more info?
Nothing yet for me...
Per the UA website:

East-side flags going up today. (I am a bit surprised the U.S. and NYS flags are there, and not in the Northern endzone.)

Don't we have the number one prep kicker for two years ago redshirting this season?
