  1. Looks like Stony Brook will not challenge anyone in AE. Otchere, Lattimer, Onalanyi, Garcia, and Foreman all have left the program, that's 4 starters. SBU board members blame the coach, Ford, but players are saying he was cool.
  2. Not sure if posted but IL shows McComber and Skidders as entering the transfer portal as underclassmen and they have them in their top 15.
  3. TD is staying at Yale for 5th season. Seems he found a loophole to play another year. Ivies do not allow more than 8 semesters of an athlete but since he transferred in, he hasn't hit the 8 yet at Yale. Ingenious but obvious if you know the policy.
  4. I guess he saw mucho bench time with JoJo and Amica next season?
  5. Yorktown is a very good program and sure Marr's connection helped get the kid. Nate was ok in goal, certainly not a JD or Blaze. Be nice to have an experienced guy and not throw one of the youngsters into the cage.
  6. At least they announced this transfer before Nates decision. He figured to be the starter if he came back but now he might think it's only 50/50 and not worth it if the back-up.
  7. If Amica gives us the career of Mike Black, we are in good hands for 4 years at PG. I would signup for that right now. As for giving out a scholly to a couple more HS seniors right now means those players were looked over by D1 teams and same for D2, D3 schools and we then over reached for what are non-D1 talent. We all loved Fruscio for what he gave on the sideline and in locker room but he was not D1 player. Just to fill out the bench with guys who ride the pine doesn't help the front court issues. Don't think CB will find talent at this point at the HS level. There are exceptions but those players probably have academic issues who would not qualify to play here.
  8. Thanks. I see your concern for injury bug and CB teams seem to get hit hard with injuries during practices especially in the pre season. Maybe continue social distancing during pre-season practices coach? 😝😝😝
  9. I see he last played for Norfolk St in 18-19 after RS freshman year due to NCAA partial qualifier. Was on MEAC all- rookie team avg 4.5 pts a game in 12 mpg. Shot 48% but was 68% from FT and 11-41 from 3. Where was he this past season? Not on Norfolk St roster.
  10. Alright Scott Marr, put on your best recruiting hat and have Michael Sowers from Princeton come by for a visit. He just put his name in the transfer portal since Princeton (and Yale) will not allow a withdrawl and then a re-entry to get the extra year. Now if TD does the same, and we get both guys (and Tehoka comes back), look out for next season! I must be dreaming, lol.
  11. I know it's only April but if you look at our current roster for next season, I don't have a warm, fuzzy feeling about next season and I don't see other AE coaches saying watch out, UA looks loaded. We have 4 mystery players to fill, JUCO unknowns or grad transfers that were not stars. Then you look at what we do have currently, probably one player who can make one of the three All-AE teams in Healy and if we are lucky and he gets PT, Amica on a All-Rookie team. That's all I see. Lulka bouncing back? Eh. Hutchinson building on rookie season? UA track record on that lately is suspect. Rizzuto and Hank doubling their numbers and being a consistent force? Doubtful. History shows us that best case in the four other schollys is one guy MAY be a player that helps team night in, night out. Not getting my hopes up after getting them too high at start of this past season.
  12. And that once again circles back to the topic I brought up months ago, CB's devotion to his homegrown staff. Issues growing players that are here and recruiting successful ones to come here.
  13. Not surprised at all. Thought he might be the guy with some PT that might leave. Never saw a live game but just based on TV, he did not show much enthusiasm or emotion each game, seemed like he was not happy to be there. Correct me if I am wrong from those who were there each game and saw it differently. His defense was fine with his length but offense never clicked, outside shot erractic. A couple games he exploded, then zeros for a few. Good luck to him. Could excell at D3 level based on size, but don't see many D1 offers with playing time guaranteed. So CB has another open scholly.
  14. Not surprised as playing time was reduced. He looked pretty good as a freshman subbing for the injured Connor Fields but that was it. Down the depth chart he went.
  15. Found it. We join LIU- Brooklyn, Quinnipiac, and Lehigh as the other four.
  16. If it is the one at Mohegan Sun in Nov then Minnesota, Marquette, Rhode Island and UCF are already listed as 4 of the 8 teams. Will keep an eye out for updates but I do hope they add some beatable mid-majors, lol.
  17. Hey fellas. Board has been very quiet lately even with most staying at home. Hope all is well with everyone! Thought I would see opinions on the PG position for next season since that seems to be pretty well set as of now. I always felt your stud PG plays 30-35 min and the backup plays the rest and there is never any minutes for a 3rd guy. Then we had last year with three ( Clark, Anderson, Carter, not including Fruscio), two get hurt and we struggled to fill in the gap. So we have three again for next season, the young frosh, Amica, the vet off of injury in Anderson, and now a big PG in Horton, with two years of JUCO. They all want to play but rarely do you see a three-headed tandem at PG. I guess CB will have to see if Anderson is healthy, if Amica can shine under the lights, if Horton can play CB basketball without the usual JUCO learning lag. If all three can do that, who is odd man out while trying to keep everyone happy? Does Amica understand he is low man on totem pole? Is Horton a nightmare size matchup problem for opposing PG's? I know this will all play out in practice and OOC but I was bored. No front line commits as yet and so far no one leaving to determine the rest of the roster.
  18. ESPN site shows he was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
  19. Did play at Montverde Academy in FL his prep year.
  20. Tehoka did that a year and half ago if you remember. Withdrew for the Fall and enrolled in Spring for Lax season.
  21. Can't remember anything from 2 days ago but always remember my favorite watering holes in Albany from 79-83. At Sutters Mill the most because I was addicted to the burger and fries due to the lame UAS food. Also loved Hurleys with the best buffalo wings. WT's had great Long Island Iced Teas (don't ever drink 2 of those in less than half hour. Surprised I am alive after that). The most drunken crowd was always at the Grinch way downtown. I remember the green bus dropping us off at the phys ed building and stumbling to Dutch Quad after nights there. Great memories!
  22. I could see that for Spring sports although TV sports shows were mentioning that seniors in basketball would like the same deal with the NCAA tourney being missed. That would not work as those players played an entire season already unlike spring sports and affects players on only 68 teams out of 351 D1 teams. Do Hansen, Clark, Lauderdale deserve another year after already eliminated from post season play? Of course not. The NCAA has to stick to Spring only or they are opening a can of worms. Scholarships are the other problem. If a school has 5 seniors graduating, they already gave 5 schollies to incoming freshmen. Is the extra year on players dime? Does NCAA increase allowable scholarships for one season? Many issues.
  23. Well, on a lighter note, lacrosse has been cancelled by the NCAA. Technically teams can still play a scheduled game if their conference has not suspended play but don't see that happening. It is what it is but I think I would be much more upset if this was March 2018 and our #1 ranked Danes could not vie for a title. We know how it turned out but that March we thought the trophy was ours and to not have a shot at it due to a virus would have sucked.
  24. Just read the Ivy League will ask for a extra year of eligibilty for those Spring sports athletes affected. In some conferences I could see guys and gals coming back but this is the Ivy's. These upcoming grads have big time jobs lined up already or med and law school in the Fall.
