  1. 9-0 run to end half. If not for Cremo, we be done. Getting a sneaky suspicion that that we have over-estimated this team and every game, no matter who we play in conference, will be a dog fight because we can't get pissed off and put 2 solid halves together.
  2. Look at CB with these different line-ups out there! Clark not out there yet for some reason.
  3. Love David but words come to mind lately, "in a fog". Just his body and facial expressions just look blah.
  4. Boggles the mind. Not blown out in our 3 losses. Competitive against an AAC team, practically won against an ACC team, both on the road and then get blown out against Hartford at HOME???
  5. I saw Damien on camera before. Think CB should put him out there. Might get a better effort.
  6. Guess I don't have to remind all the die-hard UA fans what this game reminds me of from 2 years ago.
  7. Happy New year everyone. I know we are barely half way thru the season but an experienced coach like CB should always have an eye on next season with regards to possible JUCO recruits coming in and development of current players. That brings up our front court. Stire, Charles, and Foster are leaving so I assume Cremo, Nichols, and Campbell are starters next season leaving 2 forward spots to fill. Hank and Lulka have not and will not see a minute in a D1 game. Conway has been on the bench lately and from what we have seen he is not a power rebounder like Stire, nor has the low post moves and great mid range jumper of Charles, or the length and athleticism of Foster so is he just a role player? So who are the other two forwards? A couple of JUCO's could come in but as we have seen, they take a half season or more to acclimate to D1 ball. I realize not much can be done now with the red-shirting of the Aussies and maybe the staff is hitting JUCO games looking for a diamond in the rough? Any thoughts?
  8. We knew when Richards was gone, Tate would take over as the go-to player. With her gone, did not think we had someone to take over this season. But ladies are stepping up from top to bottom!
  9. SBU lost at home tonight against a 1-12 Norfolk St team. Amazing how AE teams or any mid-major for that matter can be competitive against the big boys many times, on the road no less, and then lay an egg at home against weak teams.
  10. Stats don't lie. Cremo is 4th in the nation in minutes played. And Nichols is 12th! Could be why they seem a bit "off" for a game or part of a game. What's annoying is that we have depth so no reason for CB to ride them like that.
  11. Our streak of outrebounding every opponent this season is over, 35-32. We were the last team in country left with that record. That one sequence where Kent St got 4 straight offensive bounds doomed us.
  12. Anyone notice that Hartford beat Rutgers 60-58? Hugh upset.
  13. What had happened to David past few OOC games? Shooting horrible from floor and even the FT line. Not the 1st teamer we saw earlier. I am liking Clark out there more and more even with David.
  14. Counted 5 rim outs so far at the rim we have missed and 3 FTs.
  15. If math is right, if Siena beats Memphis and we pull out the win tonight, we win the Gotham Classic?
  16. I have watched 12 of the 13 games this year and after every one CB says they need to get better. Well CB, hate to tell you, they are not getting better. Sloppy play, missed free throws, not finishing at the rim. Travis is MVP so far. And David, if your having a tough night, at least hit FT's!
  17. That would be perfect. The last 3 seasons the A10 got 3 teams each year into the tourney. The 2013-14 season, they got in 6 teams, yes I said 6 teams. So you don't have to win the conference tourney to get an invite. I understand the first 2-3 years would be tough till the recruiting catches up like it was in football going to the CAA but that is well worth it for the long-term future of the program and excitement for the fans, students and alumni.
  18. Can't score inside with their length but we can't chuck up 3's all night. Travis is great against mid major foes but has nothing with their length and hops. Conway was over matched. Even Devonte looks ordinary on defense. Amazed only down 7.
  19. What a game. JMU down 8 to Weber St, scored with 2 min left, got the 2 pt conversion, forced a punt, and kicker nailed 46 yd FG at gun to move on.
  20. Geographically there are 8 teams in the A10 that are within the area of the AE (UMass, St Bonaventure, Duquense, Fordham, GW, LaSalle, URI, St. Joes) so not too bad for more than half the conference. Three Virginia schools, one in NC, Dayton, and the furthest is St. Louis. Think the team wouldn't mind trading the bus trip to Orono for a flight to St Louis. Not sure if the A10 wants more than 14 teams. And would Bing and SB gripe and say we'll join you to keep the SUNYs together.
  21. I cringe each night when I check the scoreboard and see which lowly team beat one of our AE brothers. And when they lose to a Power 5 team, it's usually not horrible, in fact 1st half is competitive many times. They just can't beat low-major teams. Playing down to competition? Leaving the AE will help but must go to a multi bid league to improve attendance and recruiting . CAA still is a one-bid league. Would love the A10 someday.
  22. I also watch Campbell sometimes and I agree his defense is usually solid. I think our defensive effort is a bit slower than it should be but the number that stands out is blocked shots. Just checked the up to date NCAA stats and they rank all 351 D1 teams. Guess where we are in blocked shots? Number 349!! We average 1.1 blocks per game. I understand the roster does not have a flyswatter out there, a tall guy with long arms, but we are either not trying to block a shot, or we are missing it and fouling the guy. Not sure they can teach Stire, Charles, Foster to block shots at this point, but we are ranked to far below a lot of other mid-majors that also don't have Kentucky, NC, Louisville type of length.
