  1. If Connor Fields plays like this as a Freshman, I see a Tewaaratan Award for him by senior year. He has a knack for the goal thats for sure.
  2. Notre Dame just beat Syracuse in 2OT 13-12. Wish SU won so we could have been the team to take the #1 and undefeated team down on Thursday.
  3. We can score against SU but we win if defense shows up. Marr has to work on it this next week.
  4. Thanks Dane96. The Stat Tracker has frozen at 11:45 of the 4th so I can't see any updates. Keep up the good work. Glad to see the offense is still humming but concerned on the defense
  5. Looking at OU schedule, they lost to Washington, SBU beat Washington, we beat SBU.......hmmmmmm
  6. As a student from 79-83, I attended every home game at University Gym that was during classes, never missing a single one. Crowds were usually in the 1500 range, but the Potsdam game was always the highlite. The greatest game I have ever seen in person was the game vs. Potsdam in Dec, 1980 when we were both in the top 10 in DIII poll and over 3,000 squeezed into the gym, people sitting on the steps that walk you up the bleachers. The pep band, and stomping of the feet on the bleachers made for an electric feel. We ended up losing in triple OT, 71-70. Potsdam went on to win the national championship that year even after we went up to Potsdam and beat them in the SUNYAC title game. Usually the SUNYAC champ gets to host the opening round of the NCAA's, but they gave it to Potsdam and they beat us in the second round in OT. Ended up 23-5, one of Docs best teams ever. The ASP did a great job covering the team and promoting the upcoming game. Alot more students attended back then. Wish the apathy of todays students would improve and realize the college game is great entertainment especially with our recent success.
  7. The guards next year will be a huge asset. Only problem is how to get them all playing time. Wells and Green may leave due to no chance of PT next season. Our only issue is a go to guy down low that Sam has made a living performimg so well. Richard and Mike seem to have major problems finishing around the hoop due to lack of leaping ability to play above the rim. I know Sam had none himself but he is so crafty with his moves and use of both hands to shoot that the other guys don't have. Maybe Stire could be that guy with alot of summer work.
  8. Thank you Binghamton Bearcats!!!!! Glad to see the money I give every year (my son is a junior at Bing) went to good use to help my Great Danes tonight. Back to a two game lead in AE.
  9. All comes down to your point guard and Purifoy has been a mess. Another 2 for 10 today and 4 TO's. May need to sit him and try another guy. At least when our point guard has an off game, he hits game-winning 3-pointer
  10. Great ugly win. A question for all. Peter should take as long as he needs to be with his Mom but if things improve and he wants to come back by say the end of February to help the team in AE tourney, can he academically? They are "student-athletes" and if he missed a month of classes, will his classes be dropped? Could he be in classes online working with the professors via email the past week to keep from a semester withdrawl? Obviously if classes were dropped, he cannot just show up and play. Any thoughts?
  11. Evan needs to wear the headband next game. Not the same player without it
  12. Could be one of the ugliest games I have ever seen. Our offense is so disjointed tonight. Dallas can't find an opening nor Wheeler.
  13. We are all alone at the TOP!! UNH 73 Vermont 68
  14. Just flipped over to AETV for UNH/Vermont. 4 minutes to go and UNH up 1. They were up 15 midway in second half.
  15. Two observations. I love the new Dallas. As a reserve he came in, looked for a three, and that was it. As a starter, he is using his 6'6" size to create a shot and looks to get inside. Second, Ray Sanders looks like he could score from anywhere. Reminds me of Gary Johnson in his first year, defense first and then Garys second year he scored more. Look for Ray to do the same.
  16. The game is now on ESPN3 under replays for 1/19/2015. Enjoy it again!
  17. Just got back from the game. Thoughts to Peter and family. When I saw Dallas start, I knew something was up. Great job by the team! Crowd never could get into it at all. Purifoy struggled and our defense was solid all game. Dallas played very well for a late starter. Just has to find way to get more open looks. Peters was good also. Evan and Ray are coming along so well for JUCOs. As for the arena, when I walked in, it was WOW. UA people sat behind our bench in the second level, section 203. Chairbacks everywhere but the 2 endzones. Having seats all around unlike SEFCU is so much nicer and all the red looked sharp. Need to redo SEFCU in all purple and gold. Thought the 2 scoreboards, one at each end, was odd. Nothing hanging over centercourt. Two nice video screens were sharp. Any questions, feel free to ask. The UA chant at the end was great!
  18. Just checked their calendar and classes start the following Monday, the 26th.
  19. The stars are aligned for UA this week. First take care of business against Bing Wednesday. Then SBU has to go to Orono Saturday against Maine, always a loooong trip. We should be well rested for Mondays game at SBU while their legs could be tired.
  20. Nice win on the road. Before conference play started, I penciled in sweeps over UMBC, Bing, and Maine just because they are awful. Now with road wins over UNH and UML, we should protect home court and win the home game against those two. That would be 10 wins total and if we just split the 6 games against SB, VT, and Hartford, that is 13-3, which should be good enough for 2nd or no worse than 3rd come tourney time. Ensures a home game and if in 2nd, a home semi game. I know we could lay an egg against one of the bottom dwellers, but role players are contributing and the sickly guys will feel better so I am optimistic about the final record in AE play. Warney was the only one to show up for SB at Vermont today. I will be at SB next Monday the 19th to root on UA and check out that new facility.
  21. Wow! Washington will never schedule another AE team again. SB just beat them 62-57. Warney was 5-17 and Purifoy was 2-11 and they still beat the 13-0 Huskies. Seemed like just yesterday that Mike Black drove the left side for the winning bucket 2 years ago. SB was winless on the road so far this year.
  22. This losing streak is reminding me of my NY football Giants. When you think they can't be this bad, they lose another to keep the losing streak going (thanks G-Men for finally ending it yesterday against a hapless Titans team). At least the Giants have had injuries. Just texted my buddy, a Niagara grad, and told him we lost again and the losing continues, and he said you can break it against the Purple Eagles if you haven't won by then cause they are horrible.
  23. Maybe Pikiel and CB wanted to have some beers tonight together. SB lost by 13 to a lousy Princeton team. Vermont just lost to Harvard in double OT.
  24. Numbers don't lie. this boxscore must have CB banging his head against the wall. FG 3pt FT REB PF TP AST TO BK St MIN 10 Mike Rowley * 0-2 0-0 0-0 1 1 2 1 0 0 0 0 0 26 24 Dallas Ennema 1-8 0-5 0-0 2 0 2 3 2 3 0 0 0 23 01 Ray Sanders * 3-6 0-2 4-4 1 2 3 5 10 0 3 0 2 11 Some obvious thoughts: Mike Rowley- 26 minutes and that line? That is a line of someone standing there hoping something will happen instead of going after it. I could have had 2 rebounds fall into my hands Dallas--Really? Where is the sharpshooter from Iowa I saw in videos. The hoop is still 10 feet high. Props for the 3 assists that LEAD the team today. Any ideas how that happened Hooley, Sanders and Singletary? We only had 5 assists all game Ray-- 5 fouls and 3 turnovers in 11 minutes. Don't get me started. Clickclack, I do believe we have the talent level as you said and thats what CB is paid to put together but some of these guys seem lost lately. If this was game 2 of season, I would not worry yet, but that was game 7 and December is moving fast. AE games will be here soon and I'm not sure yet if we can pad our wins against UMBC, Bing, Maine, UML and compete against the others.
