  1. UA looking a little better. Getting hacked like sheet, but cannot get a call. Meanwhile, UA has had a number of clean steals and blocks only to have fouls called on them. Providence has had at least 4-5 walking violations NOT called. Pretty hard to defend when the bigger more athletic team does not even have to dribble. Not saying UA could win this (still can’t shoot worth sheet) & UA D about the worse in the country; but it drives me nuts when the officials seem to feel it is necessary to assist the dominant team. Believe me vs UA, Providence does not need their help.
  2. Not that I love vt; but they have played the most difficult schedule of the group mentioned. While I think Lowell & Bryant are the real thing [and vt will be in there in the end]; I am not convinced any of UMBC, Maine or UNH are particularly good. IMHO, I would say they fall in the league is "down" category. That is not to say UA will beat them; I'm still on the fence that UA could go winless in conference play. I am trying very hard to stay optimistic & positive 🤒.
  3. What the heck are they talking about? He was named and accused of rape. Saying Lamb is not involved in this civil suit, when his name is prominently displayed in the headline, is just NBA cover your a$$ bull sheet,
  4. I'm pretty sure, Lax alumni are involved in recruiting already. Can they do more sure. The problem with asking them for more is they do not make anywhere near what nba & nfl make$. Even those who play professional lacrosse make little and most have full time jobs to boot. Recent Lax grads not in the profession are just starting/building careers and families. A lot to ask them to help with recruiting also, even though I'm sure they do their best to help. As for Scott, I'm not sure anyone really deserves a lifetime contract but IMHO, Scott is close. As for UA Lax fall to mediocrity; I have posted several opinions, including expansion of the sport, the advent of the shot clock, among other reasons. I won't elaborate/expand/repeat my opinions now; but let me reiterate that the fall to ALL UA sports {yes even Track to some extent} can be blamed on lack of leadership and/or inept leadership at the top aka BENSON. I have been a minority for years and vocal, that the money spent on football has had a negative effect on UA sports in general. And even if you and most disagree with this, I doubt few if anyone would argue the correlation with Benson's hiring and fall to mediocracy of UA athletics overall, go handing hand. IMHO Benson has been particularly detrimental to lacrosse by NOT capitalizing, marketing, building when UA was, as you say a top and destination program. With the fast expansion of lacrosse across the whole COUNTRY at the high school, college and even pro level (to some extent), Benson should have struck while the iron was hot, and what did he do: NOTHING.

  6. He is a flat out star with ALL [-Greaney] his receiving core coming back. He has no competition for his position. With a little help/improvement from the defense, UA in spite of Gattuso could be a force to reckoned with in a weakening caa for the next three years. And if Gattuso somehow manages to screw this up {and this is entirely possible/predictable} Poff really has little to lose by coming back. As good as Poff is, he really is too small for a pro career. Might as well be a "star" fish in a small pond {even if the pond is muddied by poor maintenance by the pond's caretakers.}
  7. When I first read this, my reaction was positive in that I thought it would help bring NANO back to UA. After reading 96 & go99, I realized how wrong I was. And after remembering that Kalo was responsible for suny poly and its westward expansion and the abandoning of UA, lock him up and throw away the key. Thanks guys for enlightening me and straightening me out.
  8. Love your optimism. Nice assessment also. While, not convinced about some of the pieces (IMHO some of the players just are not D1 material); I really HOPE DK can bring some semblance of respect this year. And survives the lawsuit, pulls out a miracle 5 ½ minutes, and puts it all together year 3.
  9. From a retired Math teacher here is Benson's formula for success R =Recruit good student athletes, B = Coach Badly, D = Denigrate the good students YOU recruited to cover your a$$; R+B+D = CONTRACT EXTENSIONS & BIG BUCK$. E = Extra credit: get a couple {BD's} = Big Donors--NOT "Doonesbury's" {the common man} they don't matter.🤒
  10. The email while vague was intended to produce much need donations, but seemed more threatening than encouraging. Obviously, with the reconfiguration of SEFCU/Broadview, seat assignments have to change. Instead of reassuring past season ticket holders and donors that they will be getting as good as they had before; they insinuated donate now to get good seats in the new arena. But did not offer any guarantee or explanations of what the new seating & Priority policy would be. Pretty poor marketing as usual.
  11. Yes, I heard this too. Like you, I was/am not sure if he was referring to the Present or Future when talking about Jackson & Reddish injuries & absences?? Might have been just a misstatement in the heat of the moment????
  12. For what it's worth; for the most part I have to agree with Clack, that this is NOT a very talented team and at best is made up almost entirely of DII & III kids. Only real DI talent IMHO Beagle, Drumgoole, Neely & Jackson {got to disagree with Clack on this one}. A couple games back I posted MY player by player analysis but took it down when no one seemed to want to join in on the fun. Since, many on this thread now seem to be into it; here is my 2¢: Roger Wyland was going ga-ga yesterday over Patel & Edmead, saying they were bright spots. In truth, like pretty much most everyone on this roster, they both just had a fluke game. IMHO they will regress to the mean, that being DII for Patel and DIII for Edmead. Everyone got excited about Davis with 32 vs lcc, has done pretty much nothing since, or really even before [DII+ player at best.]. Never did understand all the excitement over Reddish--can't shoot, poor defense, doesn't rebound, always/mostly in the wrong spot and looks confused--OK I'll give him a lower DI for athleticism & he has a famous brother. I'll keep Hutch DI only because of his experience, and toughness, and he rebounds the hell out of the ball, even though he is slow and undersized. Amica who KNOWS what he is?? Not another on the roster even close to being or becoming a DI player IMHO. As for DK, I'm still reserving judgement on his coaching overall. Got to give him some credit for getting this misfit (hope that is not as bad as "garbage") line-up for playing hard. Got to give a big negative for putting this misfit line-up together, and for in game adjustments, and opponent scouting and game prep/Plan.
  13. Yes, i found the nec host. Kind of weird they are an ESPN league. Lcc in Florida tournament with Maac sponsor. I guess sponsor does not necessarily get to use their network??
  14. Anyone know who the host league is for this tournament; and why does FloSports have the rights??
  15. Excellent assessment. I listened to Wyland at least 3 games; {2 like you no flosports & the lcc game, cannot deal with the lcc homers} and you are 100% right on how many times Wyland has announced a past up easy lay-up for a 3 that misses.
  16. Thought you were being sarcastic, but now that you are down in the sunshine state; thought you might be having too much fun to know/remember our former BB coach came one game [a few points actually] from winning the USB championship last year. 😉
  17. And not to kick a dead horse {actually this dead horse seems to have 9 lives}, but to emphasize how bad THIS season was/is UA's 2 conference wins came against teams with a combined conference record of 3-13 [4-18 overall]. Great season, a lot of improvement , much to look forward to horse {I mean coach}🤩
  18. Coach & GM of Albany Patrons of the US Basketball League
  19. the inappropriate contact was reported as NON-malicious accident during a pre-game psych circle. That is far different than intentionally throwing a kid against a locker and punching or slapping in the face. As reported and witnessed by many is NO WAY assault; nor reason for any further penalty. But read on many on this blog are calling for firings, including firing President Rodriquez without out a shred of evidence. I think this rhetoric & speculations does not help UA in anyway positive or constructive. IF as you & many on this blog say the incident is/was not as reported and this is proven in civil court or wherever, than absolutely fire anyone involved, INCLUDING all those failing to report honesty in the original investigation. Players, Coaches, Administrators who did not come to the aid of an “abused/assaulted” student should All be punished. But those of you who think President Rodriguez knew of and approved a white washing of the incident are way off base IMHO.
  20. Not necessarily. If the allegations & claims are proven false and he is exonerated. Last I recall, this is still a country of innocent until proven guilty. Not sure why everyone is so willing to hang DK out to dry on the word of a "disgruntled" former player; without a single bit of collaborating testimony so far. Let's see what the depositions show before passing judgement IMHO.
  21. Sorry fellas. I want Gattuso & Benson fired as much as anyone, maybe more actually. BUT form TU, Friday or Saturday print edition: "It seems very unlikely there will be a change at the top. Gattuso signed a contract extension last December through the 2024 season. If he’s fired before Jan. 1, his contract calls for a $250,000 buyout or a transition to a one-year appointment within the athletic administration at half (about $153,000) of his $305,481 salary. It’s the coach’s choice. The buyout drops to $125,000 if Gattuso is fired next year. At UAlbany, he is 39-56 overall, 22-45 in the CAA over nine seasons, including 6-19 over his last 25 games since going to the 2019 Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. The Great Danes have lost five games by seven points or fewer this season." Don't think UA has the $s to buy him out. Maybe we could start a "co-fund buy out" page. As for Benson, I'm guessing he probably has even a more lucrative contract guarantee. The one thing he is good at is covering his A$$. 😂
  22. There is a parking lot on Madison. Heading east [towards downtown] first light past So. Main on right. Do not know if free or not & probably depends on time ofday, etc.?? Best bet, park on Western Ave. May have to go one block after Main Campus sign, but even so walk will be shorter there than from Madison Lot. There is also a small lot off Western Av behind Main Campus sign, but pretty sure for staff, vip's etc. Also, street parking on Partridge by old dorms usually available daytime, but not sure about weekends when UA students may be hanging out at dorms? Good luck. I have to miss the game have another commitment. Ladies should absolutely make a better showing then the men did there!
  23. I never said they should have stayed. I have no idea why they left, other than assistants move around all the time as they try to move up the later. And IF they honestly reported the incident, of course they are not in any trouble. However, IF they did coverup the incident, like some on this blog are saying/indicating [and I did not point a finger at you or anyone else], moving will not protect them. If their current employer or subsequent ones find out they were silent or dishonest, while a student athlete was assaulted, I doubt they will be in that job very long. I am absolutely NOT saying any of those who left are guilty of anything. AND I do not begrudge them for leaving UA for whatever reason. But I am simply disagreeing with those who say the wholesale departure of assistant coaches is indicative of DK's guilt. I have said several times on this blog IF DK guilty & Benson covered it up FIRE ALL INVOLVED. I have also said, I do not believe Fiz"s allegations. Like everyone else I believe I am entitled to my opinion. Not saying those who disagree are wrong, but I have only pointed out a number of reason {which I will not list again here} why I think Fiz's story/claims do not hold water for me.
