No. Let's be more original and less...you know. -
https://theathletic.com/3984707/2022/12/08/warriors-anthony-lamb-rape-lawsuit-vermont/?source=twitterhq Warriors forward Anthony Lamb accused of rape in civil lawsuit against University of Vermont By The Athletic Staff 2h ago Golden State Warriors forward Anthony Lamb sexually assaulted a fellow student when he was at the University of Vermont, according to allegations in a lawsuit filed by three women against the school. The plaintiffs, in the suit, stated they were suing the university because “deliberate indifference to student-on-student harassment, sexual assault, and drugging created a discriminatory and sexually hostile environment in which female students faced a heightened risk of sexual assault and, once assaulted, lacked any meaningful avenue of redress.” ADVERTISEMENT Lamb was not named as a defendant in the suit. “The allegations made against me in 2019 that have recently resurfaced are patently false,” he said in a statement. “I have always been fully cooperative regarding the alleged incident, and have welcomed any investigation into the matter. Simply put, I have never committed sexual assault.” The Warriors also released a statement on the matter. “Anthony is not a defendant in this recent lawsuit and, to our knowledge, he has never been charged with any wrongdoing in any legal case,” Golden State said. “Prior to signing Anthony in September, we did our due diligence with the NBA and his prior teams, as we do with all players. If any new information comes to light, we will certainly evaluate it and act accordingly. Drafted out of Vermont in 2021, the 6-foot-6 forward is averaging 5.8 points, and 3.4 rebounds a game this season for the Warriors. (Photo: Darren Yama$ienaa / USA Today Sports)

I really hope threats of a legal action make our system work. I think maybe the possibility of legal equity is a better way to phrase that. We live TOO much in a world of legal threats. When I do a deal with someone and we're working on the contract, my first point is that we ONLY need to worry about the contract if things go horribly wrong. Otherwise you're starting the relationship off in an adversarial manner.

I'm not sure its going to be used in that context, which is a perfectly fine conversation if had honestly and reasonably. It's going to be more used as a totem for the lunacy of "white replacement" and "white grievance" on one side and a biased defense of a suspect on the other, without knowledge of the real goings-on. And the outrage continues...

This is not a political statement, but a statement of fact about our world right now: That this was covered in the NY Post, one of the most conservative leaning "newspapers" in the country, means that this thing is not going to go away and is going to be used as a litmus test/bellwether for university race relations/white privilege/inequitable treatment (etc, you get the point) by a lot of the squawking heads who populate that sphere. 20 bucks says this thing goes national and is used as a wedge in some circles. Regardless how this turns out, because people are convicted by the reaction to the media, or by some in the media, this ain't gonna be good for the school. Crap.

Anyone see the national QB numbers? Poff is 6th in pretty much every category. If he keeps it up, he has a very good shot at the Jerry Rice Award

I don't think he's going anywhere. He's very good, but he's too small to start at a big school unless he's Russell Wilson, and Russell Wilson isn't Russell Wilson, and his arm strength isn't Power 5.

Cute insult. How's that master degree in memes going? I was reacting to a comment that someone made and correcting the record hoping to educate people to something that a lot of people are insulted by, that is veiled racism. Not some "snowflake" thing but a reference to a very dark part of our history that we are still working to correct. But like most people on the hard right, you set the fire, and then yell at the people for trying to figure out what caused the fire to prevent fires in the future.
