  1. There was a nice article in the Schenectady Gazette about it.
  2. They are doing a game for time warner in their area. I('m sure Rog and Zach sound like homers if another TW picks up our broadcast.
  3. More kids redshirt in footbsall than play their freshmen year, so if they're diligent in the classroom, most will graduate early and could transfer out. I could never fault a kid who wants a specific field of study, we don't offer, as well as being able to transfer up.
  4. Any bets on if the old soccer scoreboard will be down by Saturday? Wasn't shown on the prelim sketches, but maybe they'll just leave it there as a secondary scoreboard. Or save it and move it. Or not. BTW the Fuller Road roundabout was scheduled to open today. Anyone know if it's ready? Yesterday, I noticed the Fuller Rd. closing date on the electronic signs was changed to the 25th.
  5. http://www.albany.edu/news/28916.php
  6. I've always thought the same thing. You really need to go up a few floors before you gain any appreciable spaces.
  7. I'm very interested in how the seating will work out. I'm hoping that as a long time season ticket holder, we will recieve one of the first choices. Anyone know how this is going to work out ? I believe there was a letter included in the season ticket order form that spelled this out but my memory is a bit foggy...I believe it went... Tier 1 (top priority) - returning season ticket holders Tier 2 (second) - new season ticket holders coming on board next year Tier 3 - everyone else... I'm assuming returning season ticket holders will get first dibs and access to see the facility upon completion next summer. I've heard that for every $1,000 donation, you can purchase 2 of the chairback seats (which are limited). I would assume the priority listed above would also be a factor.
  8. If someone was at the golf tournament and heard Ford say that, then that's confirmation in itself. Of course that is if he said we were offered and have already accepted. Anyone here actually attend and what was his statement exactly? I was there. I paraphrased, but that was the gist.
  9. Coach Ford told the football alums at their golf tournament Saturday. SBU is also getting an invitation. I assume they will take it. Coach also said URI would be staying in the CAA. I think with UA, SBU added to the other northern schools, the travel budget became much more reasonable.
  10. That's why I thought the new rec field would be bigger as that's where rugby currently plays. There is some latitude on the size, so I'm sure it could be used, if they were allowed to use it.
  11. Huh?! That property is a part of the UAlbany campus from my understanding. http://www.albany.edu/main/maps.shtml Dane you can't receive PMs. Clean out some room.
  12. It's separated and, technically off campus, to enable the public private partnerships, which cannot be done under the current SUNY regs. That was one of the things that the university wanted in the SUNY2020 legislation. I don't think that was in the final bill. That's why the Fuller Road Mgt. Corp. entity was created.
  13. I spoke to Charlie Voelker about getting a copy of that picture. He told me they would be available soon.
  14. BOB87, being the sports nut thatyou are, with the experience you have attending so many events, you know that there is always a ticket available to any event, and usually not at an outrageous price.
  15. I don't think any oter point systems measure more than $. I only have some awareness of UCONN's system, and not to much detail of that. A friend is in a group which has some season tickets, and they had to give much more than 2500 to be eligible to buy tickets, let alone postseason tickets. Bob, you go to away games for your enjoyment, but if you want preferential treatment for tickets, I'm sure UA would rather you donate, the $ spent, to the athletic program. Alums in LA or whereever can get the tickets for games in their areas. I'm sure Mr. Fallon deserves tickets more than "we" do. Longevity of support appeaars to be taken into cosideration, as lifetime support is also one of the criteria. You want a top notch athletic program and we are on our way, but NYS is not going to pay for it. The UA community is going to have to shoulder the burden. That includes the fans and businesses like SEFCU. I think that's pretty much the reality of the situation. I don't see any other way around it. Loyalty is great and admirable, but it doesn't pay the bills.
  16. it is just funny to predict that there were a number of individuals in the capital district last evening who did not come out for the exhibition, likely won't come out for many home games, and at the end of the day would receive priority to high demand tickets ... don't peg me as a liberal (very middle of the road politically), but i'd be very much in favor of a well thought out points system for ticket distribution over a simplistic, "priority going to 2006 Athletics donors beginning at the $2500+ level" ... Go Danes 17278[/snapback] Give $2500, you get 2500 points, buy a season ticket, get 165 points. What's the difference. As I said before, if you donated the 2500 or 25,000, would you not want priority?
  17. 92, I didn't understand your post. Please elaborate. Thanks.
  18. I believe we have the tie breaker on BUNY because of point differential. in the games.
  19. Hopefully we start out with a healthy Lillis, which we haven't for the last 2 years. We also start the year with Siggers making major contributions, which didn't happen until well into last season. This team has a chance to be better than last years, which is necessary as I think the AE, in general, will be improved.
  20. I understand the study is already in progress. And you will be getting a request to support the stadium in the near future. Not knowing how much you donate, I'm small potatoes myself, but we're all going to be asked to support the stadium.
  21. I played for over 10 years after I graduated, but not for UA. I refereed a few of teir games, before I got too old. Congratulations on the State Championship and good luck in your quest for nationals.
  22. I hope everyone in the capital district is at the game, you can record it and watch it again later.
