Friends, Family, and Alumni of UAlbany Volleyball, Hello! I apologize for not getting this out earlier in the week, we've been busy getting ready for our home tournament this weekend. For those of you in the area, I'd like to invite you and your families to come out and watch our home opener on Friday night when we open with Syracuse at 7:00. The past two years this has been a great match that has gone 5 games. After the match the team will be signing autographs and handing out posters. On Saturday we play Temple at noon and close the tournament with a very good Middle Tennessee State team at 7:00. I hope to see many of you in the stands and yelling! Thanks for your support! GO GREAT DANES!!! Kelly

I echo the previous posters. The article didn't live up to the headline. I think you need to go back30* years to get to the heart of the matter.

The concessions are an embarraaament. This game always draws a pretty big crowd, one single line for refreshments. Not the way to bring in the capital district fans. I can't believe we can be this unprepared. We continue to commit some pretty stupid penalties: Block in back on someone with no chance to tackle our runner scoring a touchdown on the fumble recovery. Late hit or something after the whistle after we stop them on third down. Face mask by an offensive lineman resulting in a first and 25 late in forth qtr. Very frustrating. I believe we had 4 "stupid" penalties to Fordham's 1.

What, no predictions for 2009-2010?

It's pretty confusing. As I coached ice hockey for many years, it was a shock to me how much different it was. Can only use one side of stick, can't stop the ball with anything but the stick. The whistle is blowing all the time and luckily a parent was around to tell me why.

Where's the basketball schedule?

? team practice doesn't start until the middle of October? -
I think that extra 10 mil, might have been a deal breaker for the Giants. The fileds they practice on are very nice for the purpose. I saw SB's stadium last night on the broadcast. Very impressive. A little different than I imagined it though. I think our plan is even nicer, if we build it to that plan.

Ruler, why would you blow a gasket when Ostrom calls, he's trying to get the money. I guess if you've donated 10 million for the stadium and it's not getting built, you could bl;ow a gasket. I have confidence that funding is being pursued and will eventually be secured. I don't really care if they do too much to the current field. I'd be happy with bleachers set up on the Track behind our bench to improve sightlines, but I'll be patient, even though i'm old and have less time to wait.

Nice update on Will's site. His thoughts on Kermit's passing.

We've been in the play in game since the bracetology first came out for next year. It gets modified as the season progresses. The team will have to change Lunardi's mind.

I read this last night, but I was too upset to respond. I feel like I've lost a family member.

So we have 2 top 40 teams (CHN's preseason top 40). UCONN 32 Bucknell 38 posted July 5. I hadn't looked at it until today.

92 and counting.

Fallon Field Question
alum73 replied to UAlbany09's topic in Spring Sports-Baseball, Lacrosse, Softball, Track + Golf
Originally there was going to be an A frame, but I saw a later drawing where the Stands were on the West Side of each field facing East. I don't believe they've received the funding for those stands yet. -
I believe he was in Criminal Justice, which is one of UA's most highly ranked programs. I understand he was not a very hard worker at practice. He was getting 10 minutes a game. You have to earn your minutes. It was his choice. He chose to leave.

I'm with Patch on this. Zo was so much more a factor than most people gave him credit for. I think Gifford will be a very good player for UA, but he'll still be a freshman. I have nothing but high hopes for this team this year.

I think it will be detrimental to Siena's recruiting efforts. For Bob87 and Jon, that's also a "good". I find it pretty interesting that we rarely seem to be recruiting the same kids. You would think we would be looking at similar athletes.
