Albany Med is doing the same with the south end now.

Either way UAlbany students will benefit.

http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Private-dorm-proposed-near-UAlbany-5712090.php This is great and should be approved. It means enterprise has taken note of our expansion and is willing to bet on it continuing. Private housing is a great alternative and should relieve some of the pressure to keep expanding on campus.

Perfect answer. Exactly what the last admin failed to recognize. -

That's awesome. Great mounting job too. Looks great against the purple.

I think (my opinion only) is; in the divorce, UA is being most affected by the loss of the LAND. Buffalo, Utica, Como can keep Kaleraros and company. A law school is nice, but nothing (maybe a lot of money) can compensate UA for the land lost. There is only so much land available even if you have the money. Haven't you seen "Gone with the Wind"? It is all about "Terra". Where can UA expand? The Harriman campus appears to be a dead end. East Greenbush is nice, but do we really want to be a campus spread across two counties. I know we offer graduate courses in Clifton Park. Maybe we can expand in Saratoga--grab Global away from nano. The point is LAND is a rare and finite commodity and resource. I agree on the land point. I would love to see the Albany Law merger occur and pave the way for more......Albany Med, Albany Pharmacy......scoop up the entire University Heights campus on New Scotland. That is good land.

I believe it. He has a personal interest. Plus I don't think they occur unless he was involved. And I wouldn't be surprised if this is part of the Nano divorce package.

It's the same thing that Jones said.

No umbrella policy is great. Umbrellas have no place inside a stadium. The 10x10 tent policy is interesting. i think we (Football Alumni) group are the only ones to put up a tent that was bigger than 10x10 and that was approved by the university. I'm sure they're not going to ding anyone for a 10x15 or 10x20 pop up tent. They probably just don't want people to bring commercial tents and install them on gameday. Which makes sense. Any mention on alcohol? They've never bothered anyone, but I'd be curious to know what the actual rule is.

And a UAlbany grad. I didn't make your point. Your point was that the Albany Law alumni base would have objections to it. I don't see (1) a truly active alumni base or (2) any serious objections. I agree it needs to be seriously looked at and all the T's crossed and I's dotted. I just don't have any of the same concerns that you seem to. Just my opinion though.

Do you have a connection to Albany Law? It sounds to me like you are describing another law school than the one I went to. BTW, worth noting again -the President of the Board of Trustees of Albany Law is also a UAlbany grad and a major contributor to the football stadium......

Huh? No one is suggesting that this would change the approach to teaching law school (one can argue that until the sun comes up). How do you think it works now for all the other schools at Albany? Do you think President Jones tells Dean Siegel how to teach business classes? Do you think the President of Stony Brook tells the Dean of the Medical College how to teach Doctors? Let Dean Penny Andrews remain the Dean of the Law School and the optimize the professors.
