UAlbany Among Twelve Participating Men's Basketball Teams in 2010 Legends Classic

The format for the 2010 Legends Classic, which has fast become one of the nation's premier early-season college basketball tournaments, will remain the same as this past season. Twelve teams from across the nation will compete in the fourth annual event with Syracuse, Michigan, Georgia Tech, and UTEP hosting regional round games from Nov. 17-21. The four hosts will then advance to the Championship Rounds on Thanksgiving Weekend, Nov. 26-27, at Atlantic City's historic Boardwalk Hall, while the remainder of the field will participate in subregionals held at campus sites.

 

Other teams participating in the 2010 Legends Classic are UAlbany, Bowling Green, Detroit, Gardner-Webb, Mercer, Niagara, Western Carolina, and William & Mary. Detroit and William & Mary will host the subregional rounds. Match-ups for the Championship Rounds, as well as the entire bracket for the 2010 Legends Classic, will be announced at a later date.

Yes...same deal as last year tournament where we opened at Syracuse. I believe it was known back then that we'd be going to Detroit next year.

Doubt we'd be in Cuse again next year. Hopefully we get Michigan or GT. Although UTEP is good I'd rather play a power conference team.

Detroit would be a nice home trip for our midwestern kids-- the Ohio, Iowa and Chicago families will easily be able to see their boys play three games. I like this!

This could be very cool. Could we have Jets (or patriots) at the Lions on Thanksgiving followed by 3 straight days of Danes basketball in Detroit.

Hmm...since Tim is the only 4 year Senior, and he is from Brentwood, maybe something against St. John's?

I'd like to see a series start with hofstra. FAU comes to albany. I'm assuming we return the game to Yale. I think Iona comes to albany.

Billy Allen will be a junior next year. He's from Hamilton OH, between Dayton and Cincy. I've heard that we may have a game with a team from that area in the works.

 

Aronhalt is a year behind, and Zanesville is east of Columbus.
