Field hockey wins 6-0, making Albany 13-0 vs. $iena. 'aints FH has now lost 45 straight contests going back to 2010.

It looks like the field hockey team lost a spot on one of the ranking systems as a result of playing one of the worst programs in the NCAA:

(UA was #6 before the game.)

It's time to drop Siena from the field hockey schedule. It may be doing us more harm to play them than to drop them. You can argue that the game gives UA a respite on the schedule, and I can't argue too much about that factor, but time after time has shown that superior teams very often play down to the level of the team you're playing. Does this successful team need to have a cupcake like Siena on the schedule any longer? In the past, Siena fans made the point that playing UA in men's basketball was useless since the outcome would be almost predictable, but we were an up and coming team. The current situation with field hockey is definitely not the case.

If that were the metric...we should probably drop them from just about every sport. They get trounced year in and year out...

Lets get 3 in 4 this year in MBB.

At this point, why do we bother focusing on them in any sport other than basketball. Let's aim our rivalries higher with programs who are an actual challenge. Arguing about Albany vs. Siena is lowering the level of discourse for our emerging sports programs.

In essence, let's be like Barry Sanders after we score a touchdown. Act like we've been there before and we'll be there again and go back to the huddle for the next play.
