Binghamton on Thursday

Recommended Posts

Coach said on the radio that Suero practiced this morning but was sucking wind after five minutes, will play Thurs.

They'll talk with the doctors to see if Aronhalt should have his surgery ASAP.

Devlin may practice tomorrow and is more likely to play at Bing than Watts.

I thought the absence of Watts really helped on Sat letting Iati and Guerrier settle into the 2 and 3. I know 38 -40 min is a bit much but that may have been the only thing that would have allowed Guerrier to play his proper position and he did a great job against some very athletic guards.

One other comment on Sat that nobody has talked about...there was zero and I mean zero energy coming from the guys in ties sitting on the bench.

Quick question - If Stony Brook beats Hartford tonight, are we officially locked into the 4/5 game?

If SB defeats Hartford, a 3 way tie could still be in play with UA, Hart and UNH all finishing 8-8. I think the first tie breaker would be head to head amoung the 3 teams of which we would be 3-1 so at least no worse than 5th there. A UNH loss on Wednesday or a UA win on Thursday also would take care of that.

The remaining league schedule below

Tue, Feb 21 Hartford Stony Brook West Hartford, Conn. 7:00 PM CPTV Sports

* Tue, Feb 21 Binghamton Vermont Vestal, N.Y. 7:00 PM

* Wed, Feb 22 UMBC Boston University Baltimore, Md. 7:00 PM

* Wed, Feb 22 Maine New Hampshire Orono, Maine 7:00 PM

* Thu, Feb 23 Binghamton Albany Vestal, N.Y. 7:00 PM ESPN3

* Sat, Feb 25 Vermont UMBC Burlington, Vt. 1:00 PM WCAXtra

* Sat, Feb 25 Boston University Hartford Boston, Mass. 3:00 PM

* Sun, Feb 26 Stony Brook Maine Stony Brook, N.Y. 12:00 PM CBS Sports Network

Quick question - If Stony Brook beats Hartford tonight, are we officially locked into the 4/5 game?

I think there are 18 scenarios left for us. 14 have us in 4th place..3 have us in 5th place..and 1 has us in 6th place.

We have the tiebreaker over Hartford. UNH has the tiebreaker over us. UNH has the tiebreaker over Hartford.

Scenarios 1-9..with us winning Thursday..lock us in 4th place. 6 of those 9 would have us playing Hartford.

Scenarios 10-18..with us losing Thursday:

Hart 2-0, UNH 2-0 = Hart, UNH, UA

Hart 1-1, UNH 2-0 = UNH, UA, Hart

Hart 0-2, UNH 2-0 = UA, UNH, Hart

Hart 2-0, UNH 1-1 = Hart, UA, UNH

Hart 1-1, UNH 1-1 = UA, Hart, UNH

Hart 0-2, UNH 1-1 = UA, UNH, Hart

Hart 2-0, UNH 0-2 = Hart, UA, UNH/ME

Hart 1-1, UNH 0-2 = UA, Hart, UNH/ME

Hart 0-2, UNH 0-2 = UA, Hart, UNH/ME

Fair enough chance that I'm wrong somewhere in there.

The only issue I have is your second scenario

Hart 1-1, UNH 2-0 = UNH, UA, Hart

Wouldn't that put everyone at 8-8. First tiebreaker ? is record amoung the teams. UA- Hart 2-0. UA- UNH 1-1, UNH-hart 1-1

Totals UA 3-1

UNH 2-2

Hartford 1-3

so UA 4th

UNH 5th

Hartford 6th

That could be. I did individual tiebreakers..UNH has it over Hart and UA..UA has it over Hart..so UNH, UA, Hart. But if the tiebreaker is combined record against the other two..then your UA, UNH, Hart would be correct.

Hartford lost big against Stony Brook..so:

Hart 2-0, UNH 2-0 = Hart, UNH, UA

Hart 1-1, UNH 2-0 = UNH, UA, Hart (UA, UNH, Hart?)

Hart 0-2, UNH 2-0 = UA, UNH, Hart

Hart 2-0, UNH 1-1 = Hart, UA, UNH

Hart 1-1, UNH 1-1 = UA, Hart, UNH

Hart 0-2, UNH 1-1 = UA, UNH, Hart

Hart 2-0, UNH 0-2 = Hart, UA, UNH/ME

Hart 1-1, UNH 0-2 = UA, Hart, UNH/ME

Hart 0-2, UNH 0-2 = UA, Hart, UNH/ME

Again..a UA win Thursday would automatically the Danes a 4th place finish..the above scenarios only apply with a UA loss on Thursday. Hartford's loss locks UA into the 4/5 game.

The AE site says UA has clinched 4th. The brackets is the CORRECT tiebreaker.

From Notes when UA was 8-6 and Hartford was 6-7 way back on 2/15

Albany (8-6) is in

fourth and will clinch the No. 4 seed with its next

league win or Hartford's next league loss. The

Hawks (6-7) controls their own destiny for the No.

5 seed and are a game ahead of Maine (5-8) and

UNH (5-8). UMBC (2-11) and Binghamton (0-12)

round out the standings.
