As GDG points out to me every year, home teams win 70% of the time and have a 4-5 positive pt advantage and being that these games are usually close that 4-5pts an mean a lot. That's just one of the many things that urks me about the deal. People say it doesn't matter where you play but stats show otherwise.

I want this game to continue simply for the fact that it's a great event. 10k plus for two mids is pretty good. I would love to see Siena come to the 'Cue in a packed house rocking the UA chant but don't think we will see it. I've accepted that. But I love the game personally.

In this deal, UA has to win the game decisively for three or four consecutive years. Last year's loss did so much damage. We have to make their fans get up to leave with 10 minutes left in the game then plant our flag in the seats they left behind. They need to be humiliated over several years - then we'll hold the cards and decide exactly if, when, and where its in our best interest to schedule them. For now, they laugh at us.

I couldn't agree more, but I don't see the same passion out of anyone in administration.

It is also a sad commentary that our administration needs this result in order to negotiate a fair contract.

There is not another school in the country that wouldn't laugh at LCC if they even suggested 2 straight games in LCC's building to say nothing of double digit straight.

If they can travel to Patrick Gym... they can get their arse over here...if not CANCEL IT! Boo HOO people will get locked out...especially if they are Siena fans. Shut your mouth and watch it on TW3. We owe them NOTHING...in the years the game is at SEFCU they can bring in Stanford and pack the house with 12k fans as they think they (Siena) are the draw. Enough is enough...I'm also vehemently against us "hosting it"...when we play zero games there all season it's not and will not ever be our home court if we play just one game there. If we move a few games a year there on a regular basis then I'll consider it.

I've let my feelings to McElroy known and will do the same to the new President. If the next contract calls for similar terms I won't be there...Their days of dictating terms to us should be over if someone at UA has/grows a backbone.

The way things are going at the SEFCU attendance wise I bet it will be a 50/50 split if it was played there. Our Athletic dept is either garbage or we just don't have fans. I'm still baffled on how we only drew only 2500. Whether it's the students or the locals someone needs to do their part. Coach's tweet the other day summed it all up when he said that people were tweeting him for tix on Saturday, but no tweets for Monday's game against Wagner. I just don't get it.

Where are all these fans that show up for the football games during the fall?

What fans - we avg 4,000 for 5 home football games all on Saturday.

One was "Hall of Fame" day and one was "Homecoming"

Basketball has had 2 Home games and is avg 2700

Remember football has about 70 guys suited up by each team for each game and the visitors travel better because all games are Saturday and there are limited chances to see their team play.

Basketball suits up 12.

As good as our FB is they should be avg 6-7,0000 easily

I would say both FB and Bsk support is poor and leave it at that.

I never answered the question. No, we shouldn't continue this nonsense if there isn't a significant change/improvements with the contract.

Either alternate from sefcu to the pepsi.. or like dp said, make it a stand alone game, split the arena down the middle and give both schools

half of the tickets to sell. Otherwise, screw it. Also, I feel like kingdane, uofalbany doesn't want to put in the corner of the pepsi anymore!

As for where to play home games, it would fantastic if some major renovations could take place at sefcu. Besides a new scoreboard, what could be done to make it a more interesting and enjoyable place to go and watch the games? Although we don't fill the arena now, we could in the future if this thing is managed correctly. Could we expand seating? I'd like to see a continuous bowl going around the whole arena... not the dinky student sections behind the baskets.

How about quality concession areas?

Anyone know if there is ANYTHING planned in terms of upgrades before the tournament?

What other D1 school has to prove they can win to get a home and away agreement?

As far as home court is concerned, I just hope we get a decent set of referees for the game. I'm tired of seeing the Danes struggle so well through the big part of the game, only to see them falter at the very end - and fall - due to a questionable call. My favorite scenario would be to see us kill them in this game. Another good ending would be for the other side to call "foul" for a change.

I thought football was more, but I guess I'm wrong. Agreed then that fan support is not there for both.

If the game were held at SEFCU first offer it to UA fans/students...as many that want to get in and then open the rest up. Trust me, if the news goes out that SEFCU is hosting this game...the students and casual UA supporters that wear purple to the TUC will scoop up most of the tickets. You give/reserve for Siena the customary 200 tickets or what not that most traveling programs get from their host.

How would you offer it UA fans first? The season ticket holders would have theirs already and the rest would go on sale to the public and Siena fans would come in and just buy them all up.

there are any number of ways to give Albany fans priority. 3 off the top of my head

1) mini plans with multiple games sold before individual tixs

2) season ticket holders are allowed to buy extra tickets for the LCC game in some ratio to the number of their season tickets in their account.

3) Albany alumni given a presale. They should have records as to who alumni are.

All good ideas, but is are athletic department competent enough to come up with something like that or are they just worried about selling all the tickets. No offense to anyone that may work for the athletic department here.
