. . . and Vermont lost on the road Tuesday night to Maine 71-68 (ESPN3). UVM scored 41 first-half points, but Maine managed to keep pace by shooting 57% in the first half and 47.6% for the game. Maine also held UVM to 27 points in the second half (to be kind to Maine, they looked apathetic on defense in the first half; kudos to the Black Bears for showing up on defense in the second half).

 

Hope there is a good crowd for this game: UAlbany sent out an email to all students promoting the game and stating that there will be 50 free pizzas at the game for students and 1,000 free winter hats to the first 1,000 fans through the gates.

Hopefully the feels like -6 doesn't have a huge impact on attendance, though I can't help but think it will. Especically for students who would be walking across campus. And it's on TV tonight...

Just can't get over the hump. I wonder if they went over in the time out on what to do if they turned it over? Wonder if fouling to make sure they don't get a three off was discussed, but either way we handed the game ot them. Saturday can't come soon enough.

They were 7-23 for three-pointers with four minutes to go, then hit 7 of 8 down the stretch and in OT.

Can't hate...this team played so hard today...one mistake and one brilliant shot sunk us after we did everything correctly in the second half up to that point. This is when sports can be so brutal to stomach. We have a great team...need to refocus and get revenge on UVM.

I thought I was watching a replay of Darryl Partin in the closing minutes of last year's game.

 

-We had a 16 point lead at halftime two years ago against BU. John Holland went crazy in the second half and we lost by three.
