Hartford vs. UAlbany (2/16/2013 @ 7PM)

I think that most of us can agree that a key to winning Saturday's game against Hartford is stopping containing this force:

As to Hartford's backcourt, Yolonzo Moore II had 18 points against us when we played Hartford in January (UAlbany won 56-46). Moore also played all 40 minutes. Mark Nwakamma had 14 points in only 25 minutes. Expect Hartford to counter whatever we did to them on defense in the second half of our first game against them when we outscored them 29-14.

For our part, Black and Iati shot a combined 3 for 20 against Hartford. I would expect Hartford to continue to focus on our perimeter game and on Hooley, who was our leading scorer against Hartford with 18 points (Sam Rowley had 17 points).

Maine just beat Hartford on a tip-in at the buzzer.

Maine has to be the nuttiest team in the NCAA. They beat us, Vermont and Hartford between losing to UMBC (road) and UNH and Bing at home. They've lost to the last place team in the Ivy and beat the #1 team in the CAA.

SB beat UVM 65-48 at SB.

If we win tomorrow we're only one game behind UVM, which would be one game out of second seed. Gotta win tomorrow..

Would we essentially be two games behind #2 Vermont because UVM swept us this year? Still pretty amazing.

Stony Brook deserves and will get the #1 seed. We must not be on their side of the bracket!

How fun would a second-round AE Tournament game between #3 UAlbany and #2 Vermont be?! SEFCU would be packed with both schools' fans. I am sure the conference would love to see that matchup since UVM and UA will be supplying most of the fans Tournament weekend.

Also if Hartford is the #4 seed, we already know Hartford can beat Stony Brook... .
