So for those of you who don't know, ODU is an offensive machine.

 

The QB, Taylor Heinicke, won the Payton Award last year - the FCS's Heisman.

 

He's thrown for 1273 yards already this year. Last year he threw for 730 yards in a single game. He totaled 5,076 yards passing, a 390.5-yard average, and 55 total touchdowns last year. And oh by the way, he also ran for 470 yards on 126 carries.

 

ODU is an FBS transitional team this year. They start play in Conference USA next year (or the year after - I can't remember the rules).

 

They're in a hot bed of football talent and will be a force on the FBS level soon I believe.

 

They just announced they are building a new stadium and the locals were outraged.............wait for it..............because its too small. Apparently 35,000 seats isn't enough and is a waste of money.

 

If they score less than 70, I'm counting it as a victory.

Why build only a 30 thousand seat capacity when everyone knows 50 thousand seats wouldn't be enough ? ODU Football is big, I mean BIG. Go for the gusto. It's only going to cost even more to add on later.

 

 

I agree 50000 is the right size for this area. This is why ODU should partner with Norfolk or Va. Beach so they can assist with the financing. The stadium should be designed so it can be expanded to 75000 to 100000 seats.

 

 

10k more seats will be gobbled up STUPID quick!

 

START at 20k, fill 'em, THEN talk about expansion to 60k or 80k +!

This area is SO football starved, it won't take long at all!

The 'Campus Master Plan' needs to acquire everything from Hampton Blvd, east to Killam Ave., from 49th to 38th & reconsider their assets along Powhatan Ave., for student housing.

I'd LOVE to see the new stadium built on the water at Larchmont Field! Build WHRO a new building & bulldoze that ancient elementary school that kids shouldn't even be in! Then, bulldoze Rogers Hall, for a parking garage!

Our next three weeks. We are going to get the SNOT beat out of us...just dig a hole, hunker down in that bunker, and wait it out. Hopefully we come out still standing on both feet...well, maybe that's too optimistic. Maybe crawling on our stomachs.

Haven't heard anything about Jake Meeks being available this week. Probably a week we could use him. ODU had some struggles with the option against the Citadel last week.

 

They gave up over 450 yards on the ground to a not-that-impressive Citadel team. The Citadel was a two point conversion away from stealing that game.

Yeah, imagine if odu lost that game... they'd be awfully pissed heading into our game.

That's because every home game is sold out and has been since before tickets even went on sale. They have a season ticket waiting list over 10,000.

 

Only chance is Stubhub (http://www.stubhub.c...8-2013-4291467/), Craig's List (http://norfolk.craigslist.org/search/tix?query=old+dominion+albany&zoomToPosting=&minAsk=&maxAsk=), scalpers or somehow going through the UAlbany allotment, although I'm not sure how to do that.
