Stony Brook is better than they showed tonight or at least, they were better earlier in the year. I'm not sure what happened to the Woodhouse kid. They played much better against Vanderbuilt earlier this year although ND is a better team with a better coach.

Warney is a power conference player in a one-bid conference. The tough part when they play teams like ND is ND has like four or five of those same kind of guys and can focus on him.

They ain't Kentucky...that's for sure. Sorry if I'm overly proud of how we played against UK and how we weren't annihilated on the boards and only lost by 13. If we didn't shoot 7% from 3 and shot more like 25-30%, we might have only lost that game by 5pts. Then take into consideration our FT shooting woes early in the year and hell, that might have been the upset of the opening week.

Lots of ifs, I know...but our showing vs UK (way better than ND) was much much much better than SB's showing vs ND.

Warney was clearly overmatched against a much more athletic and quicker Auguste...S.B. made a lot of 3's in the first half...second half was a totally different game...

+1 .. Warney will not see someone like Auguste in the AE. I think that will make A LOT of difference. I don't look at this game and think we're better than SB, I only see that ND had someone that could control Warney. And from what we have seen in the past we don't really. Maybe this year will be different.

agree 100%...also, not sure if anyone noticed...Auguste got physical with Warney a couple times down low and no response at all from Warney which surprised me a little...

I am normally as anti Stony Brook as I am anti Red Sux, but as the husband of a late stage Breast Cancer survivor, and a Peter Hooley fan, I really feel for the kid and their team. I guess I can hope they go 12-2 in league play (2 losses to UA), have then lose to UA in the championship game, and possibly get the America East's first at large bid.

Hard not to root for people who persevere through tragedy.
