Sometimes, you do something....like watch your school in a big game (in person) and they win.... that warm feeling...that good feeling that keeps you going...even after all these years of being a Great Dane fan (the ups and downs) ...from the website of Inside Lacrosse:

I still don't get it when sports announcers don't know how to pronounce Albany.  It's not like Worcester.  It's the capital of one of the largest states in the US.  Not like it makes me crazy, I just don't get it.

At my TV network, I've seen three different movie rough cuts where they mention Albany and each time it was mispronounced.  I made them ADR (automated dialoguer replacement: when you fix a character's dialogue in post) each time.

My understanding Albany as in Albany GA has difference phasing then the native Albany NY phasing just like the different phasing in Rensselaer County, Rensselaer (R.P.I.) vs the City of Rensselaer.....just a great goal no matter how you pronounce ALBANY!

I heard that pronunciation in another game in the past few weeks. Per Wikipedia there are about 23 Albany's in the US. Georgia's is listed as AW-be-nee, the every other one is AWL-be-nee. Unlike the Paul Simon song, you can't call us Al.

I live in Atlanta and haven’t heard Albany Georgia pronounced that way. They pronounce it the same, maybe with a tinge of southern drawl. Then again Atlanta is a whole different world than the rest of Georgia

What happened to the visitor side bleachers?

Fallon Field never had visitor bleachers. That space has the four-row seating they usually use for field hockey across the way.

I noticed in the highlight clip on the UAlbany site, about 40 seconds in,  that our own announcer (Rich Becker?) said we were playing eight CAA league games

The four row bleachers on the east side of Fallon were facing Fallon Tuesday. I was standing behind them for ½ the first quarter. The guard unlocked the gate for a camera man. A few of us just walked in; the guard did not seem to mind, until a group of about 10-15 more decided to join us. He then politely asked us to leave. He was very kind and understanding, but I think he got a little nervous when the #s got too big. Anyhow 72 is right those bleachers usually face the opposite direction, towards field hockey.

Also, Becker was tryng to say Umass was/would be playing 8 CAA games and UA was/would be there only OOC game.
