In the short opening of the season, with most teams playing higher level teams, we have made a marked improvement across the 31 tracked categories going from 6 in the top 4 of 2022 in totality to being in the top 4 of 14 different categories so far this year.

This is the last OOC game before we move into the CAA schedule.

Massey predicts Albany by 18 (91% )(ranked 160 vs. 206) , Sagarin by 13 (ranked 171 vs. 219)

Previous games seem to show this isn't the Morgan State of previous years, especially on defense:

They only gave up ten points to Richmond, including a field goal after gaining only 15 yards following a fumble on the MSU 26;

Old friend Jeff Undercuffler was 18-25 for Akron but with three interceptions; of Akron's 24 points they got a field goal by
moving three yards from a fumble recovery on the MSU 7-yard line, a touchdown on a 50-yard pick six, and the winning score
 on a fumble scoop-and-score from the 13-yard line with less than a minute left;

Towson got one field goal after a blocked punt, and another after gaining only 15 yards following an interception.

So their defense has given up four touchdowns against two CAA teams and an FBS in three games.

OTOH their offense has made a lot of turnovers in bad positions.

From the TU pregame

wide receiver Roy Alexander, a favorite target, who injured his leg early in the Marshall game. Gattuso said he’s uncertain whether Alexander will return on Saturday. During Tuesday’s practice, Alexander stood on the sideline and caught passes from a Jugs machine with his right leg in a sleeve.

Gattuso said the coaching staff has asked Poffenbarger to throw the ball away more and not take as many hits.

Morgan St has used 3 quarterbacks this year

They’re athletic. They always were athletic, but they’re well-coached and they play really hard. They like to mix it up, before and after the whistle.
