University at Buffalo- Cutting 4 Sports in Cost Saving Activity

03 April 2017 - 11:14 PM

WOW...in Canada right now, watching the local news for Buffalo.

120 student athletes are out of a sport.  University is cutting Women's Rowing, Men's Baseball, Men's Swimming and Diving, and Men's Soccer.  The Men's soccer loss is mind-blowing, as it is the fastest growing sports in America...and it costs next to nothing.

School will save $2 million per year.

Campbell: AE CO-Player of the Week

20 February 2017 - 08:16 PM

It seems like Albany gets a guy like Campbell every few seasons. Predicted to be one thing...comes out as another. See: Gary Johnson, Jason Siggers, and Ray Sanders).

All were supposed to be good wing defenders, and came out with an expanded offensive games. Also, all JUCO's.

Campbell has had three double doubles in a row. I am so happy to see Devonte take advantage of his opportunity. To think, we have two more years of Cremo, Nichols, and Campbell.

If Xavier Cochoran comes back as half-as-good as advertised (he's had hip surgery), we have another 6'6 guy (with superior athleticism) to add to the equation.  Exciting times indeed.

Congrats Devonte.

Big Loss- Recruiting Coordinator Aaron Smith off to UCONN

21 January 2017 - 10:33 AM

Wow, big loss for the Danes as Aaron Smith has joined the UConn staff.  I know we are going after some of the same recruits, so it will be interesting to see this play out.

Great for him...and good luck Coach Smith.

He is a former player for the Huskies.  He has signed a 1 year deal at a (reported) $145,000 salary.
