In the Football video about the first day of camp, Coach Gatt mentioned how important it was for this team to not only represent the school but the whole city of Albany as well. Clearly he's trying to engage the entire community, which is fantastic. My question is, with tickets now on sale, are those of you in the Capital District seeing any more extensive efforts to engage and put asses in the seats? I just looked over the seating chart and it looks like there are more than plenty of seats available (granted its about 3 weeks away).

Do we know if they really are bigger than last years? Looks pretty similar to me.

Stony Brook spent 21.1 million and probably needed a heck of a lot more than SEFCU does. So its absolutely in the ball park.

Ok, got it open. Really fascinating reading. I wonder when they talk replacing fixtures if seating is included in fixtures. i.e..are we talking about a Stony Brook level of revamp, or something on a smaller level?

Wgat about CAA.tv

I saw at the Dane Zone is offering a 7 game package for 25 bucks or so. Does anyone know what games of ours will be on ESPN3 or CAA.TV or any other TV or online platforms?

I don't see that as a positive. Never have. How is having good facilities a negative?

Ok, that works for me. I just worry about a new President suddenly changing course. McElroy did a fantastic, deliberate job in building up this program, with probably the best overall facilities in the America East (which will get better once SEFCU goes under the knife, if and when), and the Commish cups to show for it. Very few schools of our size have the separate facilities for each sport that UA does.

UNLV! Vegas trip!

A few years back either Parks and Rec or the office were talking about fountains or something and they held up a picture of the Albany fountain.

This is by far the biggest sports moment for the school. Bigger than Jamar by a lot, with all due respect. Jamar and the B-Ball team never had anything close to the press outpouring on this. NPR, CBS, ABC, ESPN all did pretty big stories on the Thompsons, so whoever handled PR for the athletic department should get a raise, ..a HUGE raise. They did an amazing amazing job getting the word out. Curious to see what attendance will be at the UA games next year. I'm sure they'll be on ESPNU more than just once.

It's not about whining, Pollyanna. It's pointing out that when the school gets national notice the name is frequently wrong. That's a real issue. And I was the one who posted the positive article in the first place.
