  1. Indeed! So glad I had my camera rolling: http://youtu.be/EdkcyD_2-rg?t=9s Thanks for sharing this video. I don't think I have ever seen it before. I was across the arena and not in my normal seats because I wanted to get more seats than I had and haven't seen it from this angle. Since you sit 2 rows in front of me - it's pretty cool to see what I would have seen lol.
  2. I got an email from UA that mentions a party at Across The Street Pub as well.
  3. Will Brown on 1045 this morning. https://youtu.be/zBqCUn9U6Tk And just for fun... https://youtu.be/LjEafVXUcXU
  4. Some Cam Healy Highlights... https://youtu.be/6wGKxsTliPg
  5. I stopped at SEFCU yesterday for other reasons and I asked about ticket sales. They mentioned that they have had pretty heavy call volume but are hoping for a good walkup sales. I am pretty far removed from the student body, but I hope they turn out. My wife made fun of me this morning saying that I care more about the team than the students do. That is kind of sad really.
  6. Thinking about David and his family tonight. F Cancer. While we all want him back for the playoffs, being with his family is #1. Once again F Cancer. David, if you ever read this: know that purplefam is there for you.
  7. I'm not familiar with what happened, but if they were told to leave there was probably a reason. Players need to keep their promises and play hard and improve. Obviously coach didn't see any playing time for them or they didn't fit in culturally. No matter what happened, twitter tirades against a former team equals fans rooting against them. Pretty simple.
  8. https://twitter.com/Twyguy95/status/705215922802397184 Thats the only one I see, but I thought there was a worse one than that...
  9. We still talk about the kid because of some of the comments he made on twitter last year. At least I think it was him. The kid is so much of a scrub that I don't really remember him.
  10. Wish I could drive up to make some noise myself, but I'm in Florida as well. Hopefully I'll get to make the trip to Burlington for the championship game.
  11. With the third seed now UA's to lose, is this setting up a rematch of last year's upset loss to Hartford at home?
  12. Is it guards or bigs the team should be going after? Lol. 2 different comments. The one you quoted is in response to next year's team, while the post I made this morning is looking beyond next year. I think the team is beyond solid for 17-18 with the bigs. Losing Stire and Charles after next season will add some questions. That is what I was referencing today. Again if Lands gets a red shirt and stays with the team, that is a different story.
  13. We obviously can only speculate at this point who might leave. I'm hoping no one does, but if that happens the team is short a scholarship, and they are still extending offers. The above said, if I was recruiting for the team right now, if be focusing on finding another big. From a guard/wing perspective this team should be strong for a while. Cremo, Nichols, and Campbell will be Juniors, Cochran will be a sophomore, and Healy will be a Freshman. Yes the team has Hank and Lulka coming in, but they lose Rowley this year, and next year Stire, Charles, and Garcia all graduate. This leaves very little depth after next year. I guess if Lands is awarded a redshirt, that could be a wildcard. Anyway, it seems that all the offers we are seeing are for guards. This team should be as there.
  14. With the 3rd seed now UA's to lose, it's time for the long drive to Maine and an Arena that always gives the team trouble. At least this game won't be at noon on a weekday. Maybe there will be more than 50 fans in attendance. I thought the school had agreed to have the team fly for this trip?
  15. Second straight double double for Campbell? In the preseason, Brown mentioned on the radio that Campbell was the name everyone would know by midseason, and I was surprised he didn't get much PT in the first half. In guessing it just took some time to learn the system, but he is playing huge now. Costa Anderson going 8-8 from the line might make him the player of the game even though he didn't have big stats or a ton of minutes.
  16. The only nonsense I posted was the possibility that no one would leave. In today's world that doesn't happen. That said, I would think that the chances of someone leaving right before their senior year would be low unless they graduate and don't have to sit out a year. That could mean Andrews? This was his second year at UA? Cochran would still be a sophomore, so he could be a likely transfer, and after red shirting I don't think he would have to sit out. Greyson is a candidate after losing PT, but I think he would have to sit a year.
  17. One or more of the incoming freshman could redshirt as well and pay their own way? That's probably less likely because none of them would qualify for in-state tuition.
  18. Assuming no one leaves, and no additional players sign: Sr.: Andrews(RS), Greyson, Anderson, Stire, Charles, Garcia Junior: Lands(RS), Cremo, Nichols, Campbell Soph: Cochran(RS), Fruscio Fresh: Healy, Hank, Lulka With Fruscio being a walk-on that's one over the scholarship level, so at least one has to go, or pay their own way, and that's no room for any of the other offers out there unless the team loses 2 or more. Either way, that is an exciting lineup and looks incredibly good for the next 3-4 years!
  19. A guy at ATSP was trying to convince me that Cremo will break Jamar's 2164... Anyone think he has a shot at that? I'm thinking not, especially if the team keeps a strong supporting cast.
  20. We are all still assuming they Greyson is leaving after this season. While it makes sense, has this been confirmed? While he has not played, he did start half the year. He could be in the mix for pt as well as a sr.
  21. Lol no. Keep recruiting get the best quality kids and athletes you can. How great would it be if Nichols and Cremo were relegated to garbage time because the fab5 were recruited lol. I'm not interested in rooting for 1 and done kids or players that belong on the SBU crime blotter... The hardest job Brown has is keeping the talent happy. What would this team be like this year if we still had Baker (without his off the court issues) and Chas Brown (who is putting up great numbers at Coppin State).
  22. Biggest problem with what I wrote above is the reports on how good Cochran is...
  23. It's not coach Browns style, but everyone's PT could be reduced a bit and they could play a faster paced more subs style game. More like VT this year. There are 120 minutes per game at the 1-3 slots. Do Cremo and Nichols need to play 35 minutes a game when you have very capable backups? Cremo 28 minutes Nichols 27 minutes Campbell 25 minutes Healy 10 minutes Cochran 10 minutes Anderson 10 minutes Other guys 10 minutes That leaves 80 minutes to split between the bigs Stire, Charles, Lands, Hank, Lulka, TMG It's definitely going to be hard to keep everyone happy...
  24. This is what I meant after the SBU game when I said Cremo looked afraid. I have seen him pass up tons of open looks with a fake and drive. Both Nichols and Cremo seem to pass up open looks and decide to put the ball on the floor and drive to the hoop. This has always been the Albany way as it has always allowed the team to get to the line and gives them the opportunity to "make more FTs than the opponent attempts" but it doesn't seem to be working this year. The they end up getting blocked instead of fouled. Those drives typically collapse the defense and there is always someone open for 3. The team just doesn't seem to want to make that one extra pass.
  25. Still have Stire, Charles, Martin-Garcia all returning as "bigs" with Devonte Campbell and Xavier Cochran returning as 6-6 swing players. Brent Hank at 6'10" and Adam Lulka at 6'8" both already committed. While, I'd hate to see Lands go, I think the team will have more depth from the bigs next year than we have had in recent memory. This thread has had rumors of Lands, Andrews, Greyson, and TMG leaving: I'm not ready to believe any of it. Anyone know anything about Xavier Cochran and how he is doing with his injury? He has been mentioned several times as the highest level recruit joining the team this year before his injury. Will he be back?
