I asked before, but no one answered... anyone have any info on Devonte Campbell? Brown was real high in him in the pre season. I think he was "the name everyone in the AE would know by the end of the OOC" He looked great in the purple and gold game. I haven't looked at the box score, but I don't think I saw him at all. Anyone know? I was excited to see him play.

I obviously know how to do it. That said, I am not going to attempt to do it for a bar/restaurant and risk myself breaking something

Anyone know of any local bars that will have this on TV? I called Across The Street Pub and I guess Artie is on vacation and no one there knows how to connect a laptop into the TV's. I can watch at home, but I was thinking of meeting some coworkers out and watching it somewhere.

Looks like Penn State will be without one of their top players: http://www.pennlive.com/sports/index.ssf/2016/11/penn_state_basketball_albany_j.html Their message board thread: http://pennstatehoops.com/talk/index.php/topic,5011.0.html?PHPSESSID=3cqib8u10o45km79hdu23e0245

At first I was curious why I would care what the MAAC did, but then I read the article. Very interesting. How many other leagues have restrictions set up like this for scheduling OOC games? Is this one of the reasons UA has troubles scheduling in the OOC?

Based on Will Browns appearance on the radio yesterday it looks like we will see: PG: Marquis Greyson SG: David Nichols SG: Joe Cremo F: Greig Stire F: Mike Rowley Brown mentioned Lands had a double double in 15 minutes in the last scrimmage, so my guess he is in the rotation. Brown was extremely high on Devonte Campbell in the preseason, but didn't mention him. Not sure what happened there. I'm thinking normal sub rotation would be: Guards: Andrews, Anderson Swing: Campbell, Ennema Forwards: Lands, Charles That's 11, and Brown mentioned playing 9-10... who is the odd man out? Did Martin-Garcia get his eligibility straightened out? I've heard good things about him. Frucsio is the new Reese, and Cochran is out for the season. Is it Friday yet?

Season ticket renewals.
godanesgo99 replied to godanesgo99's topic in Winter Sports-Danes Hoops, Track
Our number of consecutive years of season tickets and contributions were wrong. We have been season ticket holders since 1998 and I think we were only given credit for 5 years. Justin Brown straightened it all out. Apparently they don't have good records on season ticket holder history and are depending upon the season ticket holders to provide this info. Justin (jjbrown@albany.edu) and Nate Mason (nmason@albany.edu) have been very helpful. Also, we were not getting emails from Great Danes Tickets for awhile. Apparently there was a problem with sending emails to anyone with an nycap.rr.com address from their provider Neulion, but they have a workaround in place now. Having worked for time Warner in the past there is a workaround they can use with TWC to get off the spam list and get their IP addresses and domains allowed. I had to assist Albany Med and CDPHP with the problem a few years back because of the volume they were sending to nycap addresses... -

Don't think they know yet. They have some mock up images and some ideas that seemed pretty cool, but I am thinking they are still waiting for some additional support. I wouldn't be surprised if the speed of any announcement would be directly tied to this years attendance. -
The only real way for it to work is if people grow the group member list, and keep posting links to discussions on this site. Join the group. Add friends to it. Convince others to do the same. Get a few hundred in the group and then you might see the increased traffic that we all desire
-
Id say the new traffic generated would be EXTREMELY low at this point as there are only about 20ish members of the group. Need people to start adding friends and other fans to the group to make it reach anyone. The real question would be if there are any new registration requests on this site coming from it, and how that would flow. There was the one woman who said her boyfriend has been trying to register here with no luck. In retrospect I probably should have made it a "page" instead of a "group"

LOL. Facebook is now for the old folk. I'm sure there is one of them there new fangled social media platforms that would do a better job of driving fan interest...

Made Eli an admin. The point isn't to take people away from this site, so I hope that doesn't happen. Just as another site to chat and hopefully grow the fan base. Ultimate goal is to help develop more rabid fans that want to attend games. Share info. Get involved. If people don't like it or it doesn't develop into an active group or if it takes away from this site, I'd rather delete it.

Is there a facebook group for big purple fans? I couldn't find one, so I created one this morning. It's called UA Big Purple Fans I'll delete it if there is another one. And if anyone wants to be named an admin of it, send me a pm here and I'll be happy to make you one if you are a respected member here. I'll delete it if there is another one, but I thought it might be a good way to drive traffic to this site if people join and post links to threads here.

I started this thread the last 2 years. It's been quiet on basketball news lately and the first polls of the year just got released, so here is your new thread... Women start the year at #9 http://www.collegeinsider.com/womens-mid-major-top-25.php Men start the year in "others receiving votes" with 19 points. http://www.collegeinsider.com/mens-mid-major-top-25.php That's some respect for a women's team that lost their star and their coach and a men's team that lost their top 3 scorers. Let's get these games started!

Check out their arena and head coach. Look at their upcoming recruits. They are growing quick.

Purple & Gold Game - Friday 14th
godanesgo99 replied to Clickclack's topic in Winter Sports-Danes Hoops, Track
After yesterday and what I have read/heard, it looks like a starting lineup of: PG: Nichols SG: Cremo SF: Campbell PF: Stire PF: Rowley No true center on the team. Guards in the rotation: Grayson, and Andrews Forwards in the rotation: Charles, Ennema, and Lands That would be 10. The article mentions a 9 man rotation, so I'm not sure who is the odd guy out above... I was impressed with Costa Anderson and he hit a few 3's in the game. I have heard good things about Garcia but eligibility issues might keep him out. That leaves Cochran (out for the season,) and Fruscio who will be the new Reese. I don't envy coach Brown having to figure out who gets playing time. Then with only Ennema, Rowley, and Andrews being the only 3 to graduate (the program last night confirms Charles got a redshirt for last year) it looks to be even worse next year with 3 talented Australian freshmen coming in... Looks to me like it's a great problem to have and the UA basketball dynasty will continue. If WB makes PT decisions based on who man's up and plays strong D. This team will go very very far. Go Danes! -

Also, was nice to see Travis Charles banging around and healthy. Spoke to him briefly after the game. He seems like a nice dude. Stire and Rowley both looked huge. I thought they both seemed slow at the start, but then I realized that the pace of the entire team just seemed faster. Those 2 might not be the tallest guys we have had, but I wouldn't want to try to box either of them out. They got big. A couple of nice blocked shots. Found myself wanting to trash talk the refs on the blown over and back call near the end. Then I remembered it was just a preseason scrimmage. -

Was really fun to watch the new guys. Cremo and Nichols together will be a freak show. There are some athletes here. As click just mentioned they were scoring at will. This won't be a grind it out team. Add some D and they will be exciting. Anyone have any info on the 4 who sat out? Dallas, Lands, Martin-Garcia, and Cochran. All injured? Nice seeing Fruscio playing as a walk on. Pregame warmup dunk show was impressive. Nichols is still amazing at 6'0" (if that) The new guys really impressed. Campbell, Grayson, and Anderson showed some impressive stuff. The team looks deeper than recent years (but it is very early obviously) The only downside of tonight is the fact that it was a tease. Still another month till the season starts -
Awesome. That's definitely from it. I'd still like the whole segment if someone knew where it was, but this is a help. (Was trying to show the clip to my brother)

Looks like it was a segment in wnyt UAlbany weekly week 10, but I get the 404 not found error on their site.
