  1. Not sure if this was shared on here before, and I realize much of this was against lower competition, but it actually looks like we might have brought in a player that can block shots... https://youtu.be/VE58TOkA3L8
  2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_University_at_Albany_people How about Jamie Gold? He won the WSOP Main event a few years back lol.
  3. Verbal Commits still has him coming. I wonder if there has just been no official letter signed yet or if there may be enrollment issues? Video makes him out to be a nice player and the team might need him to stay close to Vermont.
  4. I thought this was a nuetral site game held at the TUC. Article calls it Siena hosting Albany. Blah Blah Blah.
  5. This goes back to the horrible job the seeding committee did. By most accounts, Maryland was the favorite to win it all, and then most people had either Syracuse or UAlbany as the second favorite. The seeds should have better reflected that reality. One reputable website had UA as the overall favorite, followed by Maryland, stating that the national champs would be decided in the 1v8 game. It looks like that came true. I am a LAX newb so I can't even pretend to know what I am talking about, beyond everything I read, but I would think that a strong case could be made to revise the selection criteria after this years tournament.
  6. Roster looks very strong. Only 3 seniors graduating after the upcoming season. Once again figuring out playing time to keep everyone happy should be the biggest challenge. Team gained size. Increased depth and looks strong. VT should be better this year as well though. Looks like it will be a dogfight. I can't wait for basketball to start again.
  7. I don't know enough about lax to comment, but I had the same feeling in the second half that I did during the collapse the basketball team had at SBU this year. Albany seemed to be content and was playing not to lose. Trying to run the clock instead of keeping the plan and attacking the goal. That said, amazing game, amazing crowd braving the rain, and a huge win. 3 more to go!
  8. It's constant rain here in Albany but it isn't pouring. We will see how the night goes, but while it's wet, it could be much worse.
  9. Literally must have updated Greyson today cause I checked earlier and it said at Albany. Looks like it updated a little after the signing news
  10. Do lacrosse games ever get rained out? I'm not sure what the updated forecast is, but I've seen reports of predictions including 3"+ of rain downstate.
  11. Hopefully Foster is a good defensive stopper. Doesn't look like a huge offensive threat. While he is a former 3 star recruit, the stat that sticks out to me is awful free throw shooting. He is from Chicago. Would be great if he and Nichols can help open up more recruiting from there.
  12. I would have guessed they would have traveled yesterday and had a practice today.
  13. According to Verbal commits, Greyson and Lands are both out
  14. What weather are you looking at? Albany, GA? I am seeing 100% chance of rain right now. LOL Woops. My fault. Apparently I thought we were further away from the game and I was looking at next Sat. LOL https://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/12222:4:US They are wrong pretty regularly though.
  15. Maybe this will show the NCAA that they shouldn't keep UA out of the home games for attendance reasons...
  16. Weather report turning for the better so far. Way to early to tell, but I like the way it is trending now. weather.com now shows partly sunny, High of 72, low of 52, light winds, and only a 10% chance of precip. so much better than what it showed yesterday. If the trend continues it could be an extremely nice day. That would be amazing for the game!

  18. I think some of the lower level seats are listed as sold out because they are alloted to the NCAA and NC. Much better view of the field on the second level! - Don't quote me on that though - just a guess based on other people saying that 2200 tickets have been sold so far and based on the # left it appears that there are WAY more than that sold.
  19. I just bought my seats. If you try to select your seats, many of the prime sections show 0 available seats. Not sure if they aren't listed because they went to the NCAA or to North Carolina, but a sell out wouldn't surprise me based on the seats left: As of 1:20pm - Monday 5/8 109: Sold Out 108: 5 Left 107: Sold Out 106 (Gold): Sold Out 105 (Center Gold): 6 Left 104 (Gold): Sold Out 103: Sold Out 102: 3 Left 101: Sold Out 208: 109 Left 207: 246 Left 206: 158 Left 205: 58 Left 204: 69 Left 203: 204 Left 202: 303 Left 201: 135 Left That's only 1296 left. I'm not sure how many they sell in total in the stadium itself, but I have to imagine that this will be close to a sell out, if not over capacity selling spots in the Key Bank berm, or student bleachers. I bought mine in section 203 because I liked the seat location I could choose, and I prefer the upper level for view of the field. Let's just hope the weather is nice!
  20. It is an upgrade, but is it worth the investment? Unless it is considered a stepping stone to the next level, I don't think so. No reason to make that move if it is the final goal. Harder schedule, still no at-large bids so a harder path the the tournament, and none of the teams in that league would draw much better at SEFCU. Seems like a lose lose proposition since the budget would have to rise considerably. If it's a 5-10 year stop on the way up, then by all means do it today.
  21. He looks pretty good. While 6'7" isn't a "Big" he fits with the 4 and if he can shoot a 3 that makes the him all the more dangerous, and he could help immediately. 6'7" is still pretty big for the America East. Vermont is looking scary again this year, and while we will be much better and I am excited for the team, their recruits look pretty strong as well. Mid-Major Madness named VT the #4 Mid-Major with their "Way to Early" pre-season rankings, and they seem to be adding multiple 3+star recruits. http://www.midmajormadness.com/2017/4/10/15237652/way-too-early-mid-major-madness-2017-18-power-rankings-gonzaga-rhode-island-vermont I love what WB is doing, but we gotta keep up with the Jones's (well the Lamb's and the Haynes) http://www.basketballforum.com/america-east-conference/661194-2017-coaching-carousel-48.html#post14908394
  22. I'm guessing it will be unlikely that Campbell will be bumped from the starting line-up. I'm also hard-pressed to believe that a newcomer would be inserted into the starting line-up from the get-go. Depending what Lands does..I would assume that either he or Charles has the inside track on the Rowley's starting role. I also don't think we'd play up-tempo..regardless of how deep we might play. Looking at pomeroy..fastest we've played is 190th..during the Suero season. Outside of that..we're usually in the mid 200s to low 300s. I don't think a deep backcourt would significantly change 15+ years of Coach Brown's offensive strategy. Right now I'd guess (using the Andrews and Grayson assumption): 1 - Nichols, Anderson, Healy 2 - Cremo, Cochran, Healy 3 - Campbell, Cochran, Cremo 4 - Charles, Lands, Garcia/Lulka 5 - Stire, Hank, Lulka If Maitland were to sign..he still takes a healthy number of shots as a PG. My uninformed guess is he'd either start-off as the first or second guard off the bench. He mostly came off the bench his freshman year and averaged about 25mpg in the handful of games he played this season. So I don't think he'd automatically be a lock to start. But..if he moved Nichols off the ball..I'd see a starting rotation of Maitland, Nichols, Cremo, Campbell, Stire. Campbell played the 4 a decent amount this season..and he and Charles are both 6'6". We'd be a bit small..but that plays fine in the AEast. After watching his most recent recruiting video, I get 2 thoughts... 1. If we were to land him, he would probably start on day 1 2. We probably don't have a chance of landing him (pessimist in me) https://youtu.be/sjBo4BaWWZg
