  1. First win of the season vs. Harvard 14-8. Miles Thompson with 8 goals. Freshman Russell 8-12 on face-offs Riorden with 15 saves. http://m.ualbanysports.com/mobile/ViewArticle.dbml?SPID=7980&DB_OEM_ID=15800&ATCLID=209423452
  2. Haven't been able to watch it, but saw an update for the Cuse game. 9-9 at half. Wish I was home watching. Seems like it is living up to the billing. So far at least.
  3. Looks like Echols signed with North Carolina A&T https://www.facebook...location=stream Congrats to our Seniors on signing day! T Echols (N Carolina A&T), J Johns (Williams), J Orfini (Fordham), M Taylor (Iowa), R Walker (Ohio)
  4. He signed his LOI. Brown wouldn't be able to mention him by name and the school wouldn't announce it if he didn't. http://www.ualbanysports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=15800&ATCLID=209308216
  5. Brewster opened their season with a convincing 114-66 win over Redemption Christian Academy. The Bobcats opened up a 63-19 lead at the half. Brewster was led by Devonte Graham (Raleigh, NC) with 23 points and 9 assists, while Jarred Reuter (Marion, MA) contributed 17 points and 10 rebounds. Georgetown-bound Isaac Copeland (Raleigh, NC) chipped in with 15 points and 9 rebounds, while junior guard Donovan Mitchell (Greenwich, CT) added 15 points. Albany-commit Max Twyman (Rye, NY) had a nice all-around game with 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Overall, eleven Bobcats contributed to the scoring. http://www.brewsteracademy.org/RelId/610514/ISvars/default/Schedule.htm
  6. History still matters even if you choose to dismiss it. Yes, Albany can compete with Syracuse and Hopkins now, but let's not act like we are at the same level just yet. We will get there soon enough, but have some patience.
  7. 2/22 Drexel 3/22 at Penn State 3/29 Vermont 4/4 at Johns Hopkins 4/26 Binghamton Latest additions: 3/15 Bryant 4/5 at Hartford 4/12 at Stony Brook http://www.laxpower.com/update14/binmen/XALBXX.PHP
  8. Here are highlights from the Yale scrimmage. Thompson's doing their thing as usual. The goal at the 4:55 mark by #45 (Connor Russell I think) was pretty sweet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmEv3HaNbyI http://www.laxmagazi...DB_OEM_ID=15800 http://www.insidelac...DB_OEM_ID=15800 http://www.insidelac...ld-2013-success
  9. Not official, but seems like they will have a pretty good class coming in. http://www.laxpower.com/recruits/recruits.php?action=viewRcd&db=recruits2013&q=order+by+%60College%60&page=2
  10. Rivals had Odunsi as a 3* coming out of high school (ESPN and Scout had him at 2*). Signed with Utah, but had offers from Colorado St., Iowa St., Penn St. and Vanderbilt. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Anthony-Odunsi-93756
  11. Maybe we can get this guy to donate some of his billions to Albany "So he moved upstate, took some classes at the Albany branch of the State University of New York, and started a wholesale feta cheese business called Euphrates". http://finance.yahoo...-212410183.html
  12. He is talking about the Andrew Santillo tweet about Connor Fields. Verbal commit to Albany.
  13. Was interested in how to pronounce his name and found this in his Witchita State Bio - Full name is Osamuede Egharevba, but prefers Ede (Eddie e-VAC-a-baa)
  14. Let's not overblow this. Lyle is clearly one of the best players in the country and is the catalyst for this team. With the full Thompson trio on the field Albany is still the team to beat in the AE and if they make the tourney a tough opponent for any team in the first round.
  15. This video has highlights of the Hooley 3 and Mike Black's game winner http://msn.foxsports.com/topics/m/video/66403627/highlights-albany-washington.htm That guys pronunciation of Albany made me want to punch him in the face
  16. Was looking at some Giants info and saw Dan will be working out for them. See the update at the bottomm. http://mobile.nj.com/advnj/db_/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=m6XM5Kb7&full=true#display
  17. Glad to see Suero knocking down his foul shots the last couple of games. Having never seen him play before I got a little nervous seeing him struggle from the line vs. Pitt. Looking like that was just a one game aberration though which is great news seeing how often het gets to the line.
  18. This link has some info. Looks like Albany crushed Hobart then lost to Marist who then was crushed by Hobart. Kind of odd, but I know they play pretty much all the guys so could have something to do with who played the majority of the minutes in each scrimmage. http://network.laxpower.com/laxforum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=43998&start=80
  19. Jiovanny Fontan who signed with Fordham actually transferred to USC. So almost all those guys are playing for high major or strong mid major programs. Hope he lives up to the hype!
  20. Looking at the box score it seems like the Albany Midfield takes almost no shots (at least for this game). 17 of the 22 Albany shots were by the attack with only 5 from the midfield. Compare that to Bucknell who had 30 shots from their 3 starting midfielders alone accounting for 6 goals. I know shots from attack are usually higher percentage shots, but you have to let it fly from the midfield now and again. Even if they go wide you will most likely retain possesion. How does Caufield have 0 shots? The other really disturbing thing about this team is the face-offs and ground balls. They seem to always lose these categories. That has to change if they want to have any success this year.
  21. This was just brought to my attention and I am embarrassed and disgusted by these videos. It's one thing to get drunk and have a good time. I did it when I was there. Destroying other people's property though is way, way, way over the line. What a disgrace. I hope these kids get what they deserve. I know it was probably only a few of the thousands of students that were just having a good time, but this really is a black eye for the University. The number of Albany college students charged after weekend "kegs and eggs" parties turned riotous has topped 40...That's right, 40!!!!!! http://blog.timesunion.com/crime/16-more-kegs-and-eggs-videos/6996/
  22. http://www.njtransit.com/sf/sf_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=TrainTo Go to the website and plug in New York Penn Station to Secaucus Junction for the schedule. According to this last train is 1:22a on 2/10
  23. Sorry, I'm an idiot and didn't realize this was already announced and it is indeed Gerardo Suero that was being referenced. Seems like a nice get for the Danes. http://www.ualbanysports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=15800&ATCLID=205035736
  24. ESPN has 3 recruits having signed with Albany for 2011. I have no idea if this is true or if this Gerardo Suero kid is the guy being referenced above so let me make that clear. I just saw the ESPN website and googled him and it kind of fits with the comments made above about comparisons to transfer Will Harris and Tim Ambrose (went to same HS) talent wise. Had interest from high majors while in high school and looks to be averaging 31.0 PPG in JUCO so I would be excited about this signing if indeed it is true. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/recruiting/school/_/id/399/class/2011 http://syracuse.scout.com/a.z?s=185&p=8&c=1&nid=3031711 http://hsnewyork.scout.com/2/740597.html Gerardo Suero Ht: 6-4 Wt: 185 PPG: 31.0 Position: SG, PG Birthplace: Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic Year: Class of 2008 High School: Our Savior New American School (Centereach, NY) Junior College: Wabash Valley College
