  1. Haggyland's info is confirmed on the UA Athletic site.
  2. UNH has cut the UAlbany lead by 9 - down from 20 point lead. I hope this game is not a case of deja vu.
  3. King Dane, Thanks for the link. Here I thought I would be doing you the favor. Thanks again.
  4. King Dane, I went to the AE site and logged on to Live Stats. I cannot receive the video feed. Good luck. Just like you, I am far from the scene.
  5. I've connected to the site, and the pop-up says "Ready," but I'm not getting any sound. Is there sound yet?
  6. Way to go, Danes. For those of you who were not present at the game or do not know the score, UAlbany beat UMBC today, 79-65. Another first for this season: a victory in the conference tournament! It looks like most members of the team received a lot of time on the bench. Hopefully, everyone is well rested for Round 2. Go, Great Danes!
  7. Some articles for the Danes' faithful: http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story...wsdate=3/4/2006 http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story...wsdate=3/4/2006 http://www.troyrecord.com/site/news.cfm?ne...id=523732&rfi=6 http://www.troyrecord.com/site/news.cfm?ne...id=523732&rfi=6 http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/college...ege-mbasketball Best of luck tonight, Danes!!
  8. I echo just about everything Patch has said. Congratulations to Jamar! You are the best all-around player in the AE this year. Kudos also to Brent and KZo. You both deserved your honors. Earlier this season who would have thought KZo would be so honored? (Is anybody making an award for Ginzo at the tourney this weekend?) I am sorry that Coach Brown did not pick up COY this season. I was not sure he would get it. I thought Bill Herrion, and, yes, maybe even Al, were worthy recipients. I just do not understand Harrison receiving it. Earlier this season many knowledgeable posters, including those from Hartford, were wondering whether Harrison would keep his job. (Yes, people were wondering also about Brown's fate, but for different reasons.) In my opinion, Coach Brown's comments about Adeleke were not very wise. First, people can change, and it's kind of unfair for another coach to comment on a player from another school. Second, we do not need to motivate Hartford any more against us. I know Brown often speaks his mind, but I thought this was not one of his better thoughts. All in all, these awards should not serve as a distraction from the real issue here - the games this weekend. The awards demonstrate just how far this team and program have come, but the team has loftier goals. Let's hope this weekend finds the team still able to fulfill another dream. Go, Danes!
  9. Sixty percent odds to win the tournament before the first game. Not bad, in my estimation. We are one of 9 teams in the conference, and if each team were evenly matched that would mean only about an 11% chance of going all the way. Sixty percent sounds much, much stronger. Cool information on the team from Onion.
  10. I wonder which San Diego State team lost a scholarship.
  11. Maybe I don't know this team well enough, but I wonder what kind of printed material goes up on the locker rooms before a game. The fact that UAlbany receives only one award out of a dozen-and-a-half or so nominations may make this team feel angry and feel that one goal for the season has still not been met: respect from the rest of the league. Yes, we were selected to take the league title, but I am not certain the league was really convinced we would end up where we did. Then again, just as someone else posted here on this topic, maybe it's a good thing that no more than one individual award was given to an Albany player. A very deep bench limited the amount of time each other player besides Jamar actually played. It's too bad a general team award was not presented. How many different UAlbany players stepped up during the season and scored the highest number of points in any given game? I'll be wiling to wager that UAlbany scores the highest in this category. It's a great comfort to me that no team really knows the source of our points whenever we play them.
  12. These awards have less meaning for me. I'm glad for and proud of Jamar. That being said, remember when this team had two Rookies of the Year? Even though those were fun years for me, our record was not so hot. I'll take First Place in the AE any day over a great number of post-season awards. I'd also be very pleased if we were the last team in our conference playing in March.
  13. In your ranking, is a "1" the highest score, or is "10" the top?
  14. Just to underscore what Dane96 stated, we need ALL our players. Everyone has a role on that team, including men who play rarely. We don't know what goes on behind the scenes in the dynamics of the team. Perhaps a team member provides at best on most occasions only motivation for the other team members, that's still a meaningful contribution. Thank goodness, this year we have for the first real time the luxury of choosing whom we want to match up against our opponents. I'll give the coach the credit for choosing these matchups. I'm just glad that now we seem to have everybody healthy and ready to go for the second season. Now we play for high stakes. One loss and we're out. I have two goals remaining for this team. First, I want them to win 20 games, and then I want them to win the league tournament. Everything after that is pure gravy, but to achieve those first two goals, everybody on the team needs to be firing on all cylinders. Danes, we're behind you. Go get 'em!
  15. My first reaction is, "Slow down, man. We have a lot to do before we reach that point." Good question, though. Will season ticket holders be honored with their usual seats? I have a feeling the game will be considered a league game. The closest comparison might be the last time the RACC hosted the NCAA Regional back when we were in Division III. Everybody had to pay for their tickets then, including students.
  16. Nice win today against UMBC. It's nice to win on the road. It's nice that Iati had a breakout game. It's nice to win the conference title outright.
  17. bosiydid, Thanks for calling my attention to the video feed. I am receiving it! After attempting several games in a row to get a mere audio feed unsuccessfully, it is really gratifying to get a much better feed. Once again, thanks!
  18. Yes, once again, I cannot connect through Fox's audio feed. Is that what you want to say? How do you get a video feed. I realize it is the game of the week. You can link to UMBC' site for live statistics.
  19. Glad to hear UAlbany is doing so well against last year's national champion. Also glad to hear that Hopkins has scored only 7 goals against our defense, arguably the area where we needed the most improvement after the loss of so many last season.
  20. Thanks, daneguy, just rub it in! I think there must be a block somewhere in my computer or Internet service provider. Nobody else seems to be having problems. Thanks for reporting back.
  21. Thanks, guys, for your replies. Still no luck!
  22. Anyone else having difficulties trying to connect to tonight's game? I have tried the Albany and the UNH feeds, with no success.
  23. UAlbany needs to win this game tonight. Beating UNH will mean that UAlbany has beat everyone in the conference this year. It would also be the first time UAlbany has beat every other team in the league since we joined it. This team needs to know that it can beat anyone in the AE as it goes to Binghamton next week, and hopefully return to Albany the following weekend. We also need to let Blagoj and Herrion know that we are a force to be reckoned with. Let's just hope (difficult, as it may be) that the refs call this game consistently. Go, Danes!
  24. The Times-Union in an article today answered many of the questions we had regarding the tournament playing times. Here's the link: http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story...sdate=2/22/2006 Enjoy!
