  1. Check out today's hot thread on the Siena site. Some of the guys on their site are simply pathethic. My, what a difference a half year has made!
  2. Dane Pound, I agree completely with your analysis. In addition, now that UAlbany has proved that it is a real contender in the game, interest on both sides should be higher. I think that if the game has a good time in the schedule, there may even be a little panic psychology that could develop. Not only would it be the place to be in the Capital District, but some people might even fear losing a seat in a sellout. This game has great potential, not only for Capital District basketball fans, but it could even attract regional interest. It depends most on when the game is scheduled. We live in exciting times. (Yes, I've read the rumors when the game is supposed to be played.)
  3. To make a lower-case o-umlaut (ö), tap the alt-key at the same time you tap 1-4-8 in succession on the keypad. Do not use the keys at the top of the keyboard for the numbers. To do u-umlaut (ü), use the numbers 1-2-9. for a-umlaut (ä), type the numbers 1-3-2. For upper-case u-umlaut (Ü), tap 1-5-4. For upper-case a-umlaut (Ä), type 1-4-2. For uppercase o-umlaut (Ö), type 1-5-3. Have fun!
  4. Nice solid win against a solid Stony Brook today. Hopefully, this afternoon's victory will give the Danes great momentum into the NCAA tournament. Congrats, Danes!
  5. With one quarter left in the UAlbany-Binghamton lacrosse semifinal, UAlbany has a commanding lead. Albany has scored the last five goals to take a 9-3 lead. No results are available through the site I am watching on the UMBC-Stony Brook game.
  6. Dane96, Thanks again. The info is very valuable to me when I follow this and other forums. How was your trip to Europe? What did you like best?
  7. I hate to act really stupid, but I've posted before, and if everybody does not know it by now. My question: What do the numbers mean when referring to players on the court, such as "He can play the 3, but he really is a 4."? It is obvious that I never seriously played the game. Thanks for your usual tolerance and patience.
  8. Dane Pound, Great logo, I love it! Do you think all our fan support through this forum will get our coach any significant "brownie points" with the administration? I guess the lack of a contract is just one of the UPS and DOWNS a coach has to go through.
  9. WCDBNuss, Thanks for your info. I have that site bookmarked, but I don't like the fact that they update their info only every week. It also took them a while into the season to get them going. Thanks, again. BTW, thanks for your efforts during the women's season. I don't live in the Albany area, and it was great to hear your reliable broadcasting for me to hear the game. Great job!
  10. Overnight UAlbany improved 10 positions in the Sagarin ratings. I think our close loss (8 points) at the end of the season to Vermont helped the improvement. I will definitely agree with Reeder's comments about the impact the Vermont games could have on our motivation next year. I also believe the greatest improvement could come from Zoellner. And we also need to believe that we can win many of the close games we lost in 2004-05. Brown must be really psyched by the VT victory last night. Where can I find RPI ratings on the web?
  11. Now that VT pulled an upset over Syracuse, I really wish that we had been able to hold our lead on VT in the second meeting between us. Anyway, awesome win for a fellow America East team!
  12. Dane96, Good trip over there! Enjoy every minute, even the frustrating stuff that will inevitably happen. You will remember many moments very clearly, as I believe you have events on the basketball floor indelibly etched in your memory. Prague is a very beautiful city and a unique place. Enjoy it!
  13. My personal feeling regarding the Binghamton game: If we win this game, it will be the greatest victory in the school's history. Each succeeding win this year would surpass the previous.
  14. Patch and Statefan, Great points, guys! I agree with every word you posted. Next year should be real fun. I am looking forward to the first RAAC sellout ever! And it will be different from other large crowds in the past in that people will be attending to see us play, rather more to see the opponent.
  15. It sounds like UAlbany made a very valiant effort against NU tonight. They had simply dug themselves too big a hole in each half and did not have enough at the end of the game. Too bad! Congratulations to all of you who took the time and made the effort to attend the game. I could hear you well at the game over the Internet. Several posters from NU have complimented you on your support for the Danes. Next year we will win most of those close games. We will have the personnel and the experience to transform the win-loss record even more than the great improvement this year.
  16. Patch, Thanks for keeping us up to date with Connelly's numbers. Hope he will make a great contribution to the Danes next year.
  17. Interesting how the USA Today RPI ranks the America East behind the MAAC, considering the fact that, I believe, the MAAC lost a total of seven games to the AEast out of seven. The games were from a variety of AEast teams against a variety of MAAC teams; it was not a case of the top AEast teams beating the worst MAAC teams by a point or two. I wonder how the USA Today writers could explain this discrepancy.
  18. Dane Pound, I don't know what happened, but it's good to see you back in business.
  19. Before it was mentioned in the Times-Union article this morning, I was going to comment on the role Kenny MacCalla played in yesterday's game. Coach Brown started him, and he stayed in the game quite long - almost five minutes, if I recall. Coach Brown must have had quite a bit of faith in him to leave him on the floor so long against a team which had beat us earlier this year. Congratulations to him! Chris Wyatt played a great game. Although he is probably appreciated more for the less flashy strong defense he played, he has really stepped up his offense more in the last few games. We are really going to miss him next year. Congratulations also to him! What more can you say for "Q?" He has just been very steady all along, on a team over the last four years that has struggled to become more competitive - even though we loved them all for the whole duration. Thanks for all you have brought to the team. I hope you appreciate the steadiness you have contributed and can take a lot of pride in bringing us to this level. Congratulations!
  20. Isn't it nice that our level of competitiveness allows us to discuss this topic now. One of the most natural schools we can play is UBuffalo. Its RPI has soared this year. I don't know much more about the team this year - for example, how many starters will graduate.
  21. Anyone have any idea how to gauge student interest for tonight's game? The UAlbany student body may be the deciding factor on the outcome of the game? Is this game being talked about? What is the typical reaction of the student to this event?
  22. Article on tonight's game: http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story...sdate=2/16/2005 http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story...sdate=2/16/2005 http://www.troyrecord.com/site/news.cfm?ne...id=523732&rfi=6 http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/bfpnews...ports/1000h.htm Is this game being hyped too much? I don't think so. It would be a great opportunity for UAlbany. If we can control shots from behind the arc and not be intimidated with our offense, I think we stand a chance. Good luck, Danes!
  23. I'd have to think of some good German phrases. Right now nothing comes to mind. I do hope, though, that our version of the Trapp family (on the court by our players) will give Vermont some fits. That sound of music I can deal with.
  24. AlbanyObserver, Great points. I second everything you said. Scottotile, Thanks for the info. This event definitely has the potential to break some records.
