UConn game

Recommended Posts

Heard on the news on the way home that some 7'3" guy from Tanzania has completed the necessary course work to be eligible to play for the Huskies this fall. I wonder how tough those courses were.

For those who don't check their email every day, the Varsity Club is sponsoring a bus trip to the UConn game

It's being offered to Varsity Club members first, then the rest of the Alumni Association. You can ask, if any are left

Hi guys - I 'm a Uconn fan. I was impressed with your team last year. Almost took us out in the 1st round. The kid you are referring to above is Hasheem Thabeet. He is eligible and it is not because he completed any courses at UConn. The NCAA Clearinghouse was reviewing his high school transcripts from Tanzania (where he's from) to make sure they matched up to core courses here in the USA. He seems like a bright kid and has a load of potential. Uconn is loaded with talent as Calhoun has probably gotten the best class he's ever had. That said, there are ZERO juniors or seniors on this team so we are going to be very inexperienced. We will lose some games people don't expect us to lose and we hope to be a team no one wants to play in February and March. I'll be at the game when Albany comes in. Should be a good one.

is the game going to be at Storrs, or the Hartford Civic Center? Are we not big time enough for the Civic Center?

I prefer Storrs since I have never seen a game there and have seen some games in the HCC before. Frankly the seats we had last year for the women's game were real high up even when we moved down to better seats. There will be no seats in Storrs as high as the seats in the HCC. Also, on campus is where games should be played whenever possible. As far as I am concerned only extremely lame teams play no games on campus and only the worst of the worst play their games in 2/3 empty off campus arenas.

As far as us not being big enough to play at Storrs does that mean that Syracuse , Villanova, Marquette and Seton Hall are not big time enough either since they are also playing in Storrs this year. :):):)

Gampel is fantastic....you guys are going to love it!!! I most definately will be takin the trip down from Beantown!

Be forewarned!!! For those driving...there are numerous speed traps in and around UCONN....and they get very pricey (I think the Rockville Court has a wing named after my buddies and me!!!)

The other posters are right - the best games are in Gampel. Ask any Uconn and they'd rather have the team play in Storrs.
