“Kind of ironic they’re doing so well,” Lassen said. “Two days after I got released at Albany (in late February), they called me. They said they were definitely interested in me. It’s fun to see them doing stuff like they’re doing. That’s definitely a goal of mine, to play in the NCAA tournament.”

 

The funny thing is the 6-foot-5 senior wing has little desire be part of this great underdog story. The reason he didn’t sign with Division I Albany (N.Y.), after committing there as a junior, was to go to a school that’s not so far away.

 

He said he has a visit set up next week to Northern Iowa, where he thinks a scholarship eventually could be available. D-I Nebraska-Omaha also is a possibility, as is Division II Minnesota State. And, once again, Florida Gulf Coast appears to be out. Believe it or not.

Andell Cumberbatch is listed as a small forward but a couple other places describe him as an SG. Originally from NJ. Looks like a heck of a player, on paper anyway. Bigger guard who can shoot and rebound.

With Page's transfer..I believe that makes two scholarships still available going into 2013. I'd think potential needs could be a scorer..a three-point specialist..and a four-year big man.

We don't know the status of Tanner Gibson for next year either. The last report sounded pretty grim for the future. Hopefully that's changed and he will be able to play.

Unless we can get Cleanthony Early or Carl Hall types! I like four year players also but Wichita State is making me like Juco players. I think they have five or six on their roster.
