What would phase 2 of the stadium look like? What would be your guess of what makes sense? Finish the lower bowl?

What are the odds of a FBS team next year? It may be early to have a FBS lined up considering scholly ramp up and short notice.

I really hope the second phase is finishing the lower bowl in the north endzone and adding a second deck to the away side with more suites.

All indications are that UA will be playing CAA football in 2013. It also looks like the first phase of the stadium should be completed within a year, also 2013.

My question to you, what is the next milestone for UA football outside of playing well and trying to win the conference (that is an assumed milstone).

I see two milestones.

1) Our first FBS game. We need to have at least 1 per year both for revenue, name exposure and fan interest. SBU has two this year (Army and 'Cuse). Any guesses of prefences on who that would be?

2) Stadium expansion. I know it's not even built yet but over the next 5 years I would like a second phase put in. At $18M this phase is 1/2 the cost initially planned fort a phase one a few years ago, which was $36M. SBU is sure to have another phase dialed up in five years. What makes sense for a phase 2? Visitor side permanent seats or second row of boxes? What is feasible to see in a five year period?

1) Army, Beagles, Syracuse. Not sure if Buffalo would be a big deal around here or not.

But 2014 might still be a good year to play Penn State.

BTW future games already scheduled:

2013

9/7 @Colgate

9/28 @Columbia

2014

8/30 Colgate

9/27 Columbia

2015

9/5 @Colgate

2) I'd go with the permanent visitors' side, then the upper deck(s). Closing in the south end zone should be the least important and last stage.

I just got an email from the university inviting me to an exciting announcement with the Athletics AD and Coach Ford.....could it be the announcement that catapults Albany to the CAA and changes the university's sports landscape for the foreseeable future??? Looks like it is going to be a great day!

woot woot!

Mad props to McElroy. I know we give him $iena here often but he deserves serious credit for positioning UA for this HUGE jump. Under Bob Ford's leadership, I can't wait to see us seriously kick some major ass in this conference. Nothing would bring me greater joy than to see us hand JMU a serious defeat on our field or theirs (yes, I've been following the threads on their CAA Zone board...nice work danefan and D96 representing).
