Anyone notice that we still have RI listed and SB doesn't.

 

So what's the deal with them..were they on the fence whether or not they were staying based on other teams entering the conference?

 

 

I noticed that too. Something is not right. There is a miscommunication with that. We have 11 teams and SB has an even 10. Unless there is a 12th team somewhere maybe Elon, or Davidson. Otherwise, I am ready for new competition.

I'm so pumped...this last year in the NEC and in the old dump of a field is going to feel like eternity...But should help out a bit in ramping up recruiting...hopefully we can open the new place in a great new stadium to a capacity crowd.

Agreed.

I'm hoping that the athletic department invests heavily in marketing this new conference, stadium etc... From my perspective, the fans in the region are fickle with their sports teams. This is a chance to build a brand. And hopefully the other sports benefit from it.

I'd take our word for it over SBU. We are the only one of the teams entering the CAA to have win(s) over a CAA team. UA 3-6 against the CAA, SBU 0-5. So it begins...

Yeager said an invitation has been reissued to Rhode Island to rejoin the CAA, given today's news - would put conference at 11 schools

A FB coach also told me that the NEC could still decide to disqualify us from getting an autobid. We'll have to see. I suppose the same is true of Stony Brook.

I thought we were on a year-to-year contract?

 

It would stink for the seniors not to get the AQ this year, but at the same time whatever happens is for the better of the program in the long run.

That's what I understood, but I suppose the league can do whatever they want - we're not going to sue them over it, if it happens.

 

Maybe there are details over playoff money distribution (if any, in FCS) or future scheduling considerations.
