Back to 980 AM

Not sure if it was reported, but it looks like UA is going back to 980 AM for games. WCDB STUDENT Radio will still do their thing when it comes to sports coverage. Just what I heard.

Thank god. I'm fine with the college radio station doing it as long as they meet minimum standards. The college radio show was delayed or dropped several times. The play-by-play was terrible. You have to have a quality product if your going to build a fan base and be taken seriously.

 

Don't "step over a dollar to pick up a dime". It was costing us fans and support.

Badly needed...let the students practice and leave the rest to the pros...the product was a disaster on the student station.

I couldn't even listen when those guys were doing the play by play. Let them do some pregame/halftime stuff, but leave the play by play to Wyland and friends

Maybe this whole thing was a ploy to get us to appreciate Roger Wyland more?

 

I happy to see it go back to 980 as much for signal strength as anything. I know it's really, really old-fashioned but I sometime listen to the broadcast on an actual car radio and not the internet. A couple of miles from campus and you can't get WCDB.

The station played some promos last night basically saying 980 home of the Great Danes football and basketball. Certainly nice to hear
