There were bad calls in that game but the shot clock violation non-call wasn't one of them. The ball hit the rim. The ensuing offense rebound was the problem and it was the problem all night long.

I've gotten used to us closing games like this out. Didn't happen tonight. Too many mistakes in the closing minutes that have been uncharacteristic of this team so far.

I don't know DP evidently Singelais has it on video and he and Brian F saw it and both say it hit the backboard but not the rim. Evidently he had a problem with the video and took it down to correct it.

Either way we gave the game away with poor execution down the stretch.

I'll guess I'll have to see it. In live action I thought the ball grazed the rim.

I guess I wasn't as upset with the call/non-call because we gave away so many chances to ice this game aside from that one play. Garvey Young, their second leading scorer didn't even play tonight.

Forgot to mention before. I thought the Sandy Hook warm up shirts and the moment of silence was a nice idea. We've started too many games with moments of silence for the deaths of young people this year. Let's hope for better in 2013.

Off nights from both Black and Iati were tough to overcome. It doesn't seem that Quinnipiac was the best of match-ups for us..but the two late turnovers down the stretch certainly didn't help. I was able to watch the Singelais video before he deleted his post..and I didn't see the ball hit the rim.. probably too close to call though.

Quinnipiac was/is one of the tougher OOC contests for us..outside of Ohio State and Washington..so I don't think the loss is the end of the world..no pun intended. Hopefully it helps the team as they head into conference play in a couple weeks. On to Navy!

1) Did not hit rim - should have been our ball with a LOT of time on the clock and the game tied.

2) Did anyone else think that Rugby tackle of one of our players (Hooley?) a minute or two earlier that wasn't called was also BS? Should have been 2 FT's.

Refs took this game from us, yes, but we allowed them to by not rebounding all night.

Our offense looked terrible and rebounding a disaster. That said I hate when basketball is played, and allowed to be played, that way. I know it is a contact sport and all but the pushing, shoving, and bumping was out of control. The refs did call a lot of it but I think they just figure you can't call everything. I give the team a bit of a pass in games like this. Everybody has an opinion and mine is that that is not basketball.

As far as the last shot, I did not think it hit the rim but it appeared that neither did two of the refs. One was emphatic about the call, the other two just kind of looked to him. Poor if it truly didn't hit anything.

In our two losses to teams that weren't Ohio State we've had fluky things happen in the final minute. It happens.

I was much less upset about the call then the fact that we had a five point lead and the ball with under three minutes left. Then we let it get down to a crazy final minute scramble in a tie game.

A good possession and a basket or two in the final three minutes would have closed the door. It's what we've done throughout the winning streak and we didn't do it last night.

The Q reminded me a lot of those Al Walker - Binghamton teams but with quicker players. Lots of hands everywhere just daring officials to make a call.
