Let's hope the 1000 represents actual butts in seats.... how long will they be held for students,

until they release them to the public?

In the Marr tweet it says the tickets will be given away Saturday between 9:00 and 10:00, any remaining will be available at 3:30 at the North Gate

I'd be shocked...but you never know with Finals being over.

Closing in on 5800 sold.

I thought finals start on Friday. I don't think they will be done on Saturday.

I stand corrected. I thought I read that somewhere in this thread. Even better.

The rain looks harsh, however...hopefully it dissipates.

TU+ story on Luke Goldstock, the Niskayuna kid who's NC's #2 scorer. http://www.timesunion.com/tuplus-sports/article/North-Carolina-lacrosse-star-shaped-his-game-at-11137335.php

While in the seventh grade, he took lessons from Merrick Thompson in University Gym in a racquetball court, then outside on Fallon Field. Marr didn't recruit him much because he committed to UNC in his sophomore year.

BTW Singelais specifies the attendance will be " the biggest attendance for an NCAA first-round game since the field expanded to 16 teams in 2003."

ed: 104.5 site says the top attendance was 5,727 at Brown in 1999 (doesn't list opponent, and Wiki doesn't list Brown in the tournament?), then 5,479 for Army at Syracuse in 2010

The Fields article was mainly how he was underrecruited and when UA first had a look at him he was 5-3 and 115 lbs. frank Resitaris coached his club team and alerted Marr. UA was the only offer he had from a D1 team. When he got to Albany Lyle Thompson asked that he be paired up with him on the road, etc. took him under his wing. Now a Fields is doing the same with Patterson.

5,975 tickets sold as of noon today for UAlbany's NCAA Tournament game on Saturday. About 400 to go for a sellout.

If you are local the bookstore has purple waterproof PVC ponchos! Only a few left, was going to buy all of them and auction them off in the parking lot!
