I guess I am kicking a dead horse here; but what 96 and others are saying is, we paid 24 million $s to put only 6500 a$$e$ in actual seats. Which also means with proclaimed attendances of 10,500 and 12,000; 4000-5500 people sat on the berm? With projected/hoped for 10k this weekend and no berm, where do they plan to "seat" everyone??

Like I say, I know I am kicking a dead horse, but something does not add with 96's figures. {Not saying he is wrong-- I'm just totally confused since day one of the stadium opening with attendance announcements and seat allocations.}

Something I never thought I'd see in any sport is these first three words together:

Title Favorites: Albany and Maryland

Man poor Maryland. I can't think of a tougher draw in the quarters than Albany or UNC.

Let's use common sense here people. Nobody will be sitting on the berm unless they want to get killed. It is the equivalent of a firing range. The berm will always be closed for lacrosse games.

There is a protective netting that is raised for lax, in front of the berm...like a hockey rink.

On the UA Sports twitter feed, they opened up even more seating on the visitor side.

If my count is correct, only 976 seats remain out of the 6500 available seats. That would mean we have sold 5524 seats for this game. Simply amazing.

If AlbanyObserver is correct, and they won't seat anyone behind the goals, well, it's a shame. How does SBU and Hofstra do it when they host?!? I know for a fact that people sit in the end zones at both Shuart and Lavalle.

We probably could sell 7000 seats for this one.

UAlbany probably never anticipated drawing these kinds of crowds for lacrosse. The athletic department will need to invest in a taller netting so they can make these seats on the berm available for bigger events (earn more revenue as well). I am just amazed that we can say we hosted both Maryland and North Carolina in the same season. Hopefully, these schools will want to come back during the regular season in future years. If we can draw 5,000+ for these games, while they would only draw 2,000, I think that says a lot. I am sure Hopkins will come to UAlbany for Marr son's senior season. I would also like to see Duke, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Penn State visit Casey Stadium for Saturday night games in the next few years. Heck, if all these teams can travel to play Denver, they can certainly come to Albany on a regular basis. I think we will need to win a national championship before you see Syracuse suck it up and come to town.
