MBB - Game 5 (11/21/2023) - Army vs Albany

Fairly quick turnaround...Army is winless on the season. Offensively they are a really bad team, our defense is brutal...something will give.

Technically, this game is Albany vs. Army, as the Cool Insuring Arena, is a neutral site.  According to NCAA regulations, a team must play three games in a given season at a particular venue to be consider a home context.  This is the underlying reason why the UVM - UAlbany was played at HVCC instead at the Cool Insuring Arena as originally planned.

Tuned in with 13 min left in 1st half and now 3 min left and UA has scored 3 points in that time.  An inept display of offense.  And for some reason, the past few games Beagle has regressed from last season.  Struggling to score and poor shot selection.

Is there a positive takeaway from the first half? I can’t think of one. Maybe Neely, but unfortunately he’s not playing. Yeah, Beagle is struggling.

Watching this first half and checking the games the rest of the AE has played this season, and I'm guessing this team barely squeaks into the AE playoffs in 8th place. Only NJIT is worse, and honestly it's close. They could beat us.

So hard to watch.

Since we can now get off the bash the Greg Gattuso bandwagon, we can turn our full attention to the DK bandwagon and bash away.  Third year and still no improvement.

I actually think this is his most talented team ...just not well coached. Marshall, Reddish, Thomas and Beagle is a nice core. They are just consistently lesser then the sum of their parts...

They’ve got multiple players who can attack the rim so they should be doing that as much as possible imho.

Yup, a win against a winless Army team.  Wouldn't be patting themselves on the back.  A lot of work to do.
