Preseason rankings out today have Pitt at #11. Ashton Gibbs was named the preseason Big East player of the year and is on the national player of the year watch list. They also have McDonald's all-American Khem Birch coming in at center.

Kentucky Wesleyan up two on Pitt 10 minutes into their exhibition game.

 

Sounds like Pitt is moving Ashton Gibbs to the shooting guard spot instead of PG. He'll be matched up with Gerardo Suero on Friday.

Santillo tweeted this game is televised on SNY. Checked my listings and it was listed as well as SB at Indiana on Big Ten channel.

SNY just picked up UA/Pitt game...everyone has SNY if you have digital cable from TW in the area...NICE!

The roster has been updated and have we always had video there? I don't remember it from last year. Game notes for Pitt are up also.

Looking at the Pitt game notes. They intend to start:

 

Tray Goodall 5'11

Ashton Gibbs 6'2

Nasir Robinson 6'5

JJ Moore 6'6

Dante Taylor 6'9

 

Big East speed and talent is Big East speed and talent but it's unusual for us to play a team like this and actually be taller at a couple of positions. Notably the guards. That said, Khem Birch will probably come off the bench and score 20 points.

Unfortunately, I can't make this trip. I'll have to watch on TV after the volleyball game. I may go to Monmouth on Saturday or possibly Syracuse on Monday if I can get the afternoon off.

90 minutes after I post the Pitt line-up it's wrong. JJ Moore, their starting SF has been suspended for our game for playing in an unathorized summer league.

 

No Pitt for me but I will be in Syracuse.
