Can't see how you'd made an argument that it's even a lateral move. A bottom half job in a conference that's no better than the America East.

 

Haven't seen Coach Brown's name mentioned in connection with it..but I wouldn't be surprised to see some level of mutual interest with the Hofstra opening.

 

I saw a YNN report on it about a week ago. I was at the gym, so I didn't hear what was said but caught a glimpse of the closed captioning and read Coach's name and FDU. That's all I can offer.

Nothing...I'm just saying I've seen his name at least twice linked on twitter to that job. Iona's Cluess was set to take the job but couldn't get out of his Iona contract...Coach Brown has well documented LI roots...I'm just saying until that one is filled I'm just keeping an eye out on it. I'm not saying he will or should go...just interesting is all.

It's a dead-end job. Honest. They had a few good years...but the program is $iena...they get $iena support from the school...and they are not going to the A-10. Who knows...maybe we end up in the same conference.

Congrats to Coach Brown. Well deserved. He proved a lot of critics wrong last year as I was one of them. Hopefully with that extension comes better recruits for the future.

Good to see this get done. Today's TU story points out that he'll be close to two decades at UA by the end of this deal.

 

"If I end up being Doc Sauers or Bob Ford, is that a bad thing?" said Brown, referring to the Danes' longtime former basketball coach and its current football coach who is retiring after this coming season, his 44th. "Those two guys are tremendous coaches who were at one place for a long time. I don't see anything wrong with that."

Coach Brown & his staff have been great recruiters & Coach and his bench coaching has improved over the years. I still don't agree with his one miscue jerk theory as it it is a more negative than positive development of a player---let him play for 90 seconds then take him out and explain his error---my opinion. His contract extension was earned & deserved!!
