This is the 5th annual Coaches Cure Cystic Fibrosis game.

EDIT: Updated with results of Binghamton game.
We had another TERRIBLE game effort wise which led to us getting run of the floor for much of the game on the road. This team is clearly tired or simply just doesn't care. We have guys just chucking shots, not playing smart and then getting beat on D.

This is the 5th Annual Coaches Cure CF game.

The annual UAlbany Coaches Cure CF game began at UAlbany with a 74-63 win over Maine during the 2013-14 season. Since then, the effort has raised nearly $15,000 in the fight against cystic fibrosis.

The goal of Coaches Cure CF is simple, to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis and further the mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by supporting development and research programs targeting new therapies and eventually, a cure. Coaches Cure CF began at Iona College in 2011 and grew to include Providence College, Seton Hall University, and the University at Albany. We encourage and welcome coaches, teams, and communities to assist with the fight against this disease and make CF stand for cure found.

HTyLOYi.jpg

The coaching staff will be wearing sweat suits to raise awareness.

  • In the past there have been silent auction items for people to bid on at SEFCU Arena with all proceeds going to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Unfortunately, that is not an option anymore.

  • Although there wouldn't be a silent auction item tied to it (who doesn't love a good basket of boos or a tickets to a concert), if you're still interested in helping find a cure for CF you can go here... https://ualbanycoachescurecf.passioncff.org/ ...which is a specific UAlbany Coaches Cure CF game fundraising page.

Feel free to pass this along to anyone you may know. There is also a game ticket option when donating (similar to the Breast Cancer fundraiser Football did this season).

THANK YOU!

Anyone know why the silent auction isn't an option? I was looking forward to bidding on some UA memorabilia for my office, and possibly some for my Garage Mahal Bar. I lost my bids last year.

Atheltics no longer allows people to raise funds at the arena. That is why you won't see 50/50 raffles anymore either.

Unfortunate but that means raising funds online for the event is the only option.

But you can donate online to the cause.:)

Up next is UMass-Lowell. They are 6-11, 0-4 in the AE...have lost 6 straight and 11 of their last 12 with the win being against Boston U.

We absolutely better win this game. No excuses. If we lose this, season is officially off the rails.

Its ok, well be the first 6 seed to win the America east tournament!

No way we win all those road games in the tournament. Not with a team as inconsistent as this. We're into the new year, this team should be steady by now. We're 2/3rd of the way through the season.

This team better hope they land at least one home game or it's over.

Uml gets off the snide... This team is defeated right now. Lost confused and dazed. I'm expecting some lineup changes hopefully... Maybe a spark.

You got two thirds of the lineup basically a total disaster.

For the first time in a long time, after 'sleeping on it', I'm not pumped/excited for the next game. I'm dreading it because there is ZERO way to know which team is going to show up. We've done a complete 180.

Ugh.

Anyone giving any thought to the $ienaty scheduling? Bussing it out and back to Orono,

and then being back on a bus a little over a day later heading to Bing?

I mentioned that before, and it would have been a great explanation for the poor effort, if it werent for the Hartford and NH games that had the same issues without the travel. I am sure all that time on a bus didn't help, but I am not sure it can be used as an excuse at this moment.

"Costa played 16 minutes (Jan. 6) at UNH and had zeroes across the board," Brown said. "Ahmad came in (against Binghamton) and forced action and played poorly when he was in there. You need to earn your time. Those guys need to bring more to the table in practice and be more consistent when they're given an opportunity."
