Joe Casale- Transfer (2 years eligibility) (Robert Morris Commit)

Damon Burton- Transfer (1 year eligibility) (Unknown Offers)

Danny Damico- Graduate Transfer (1 year eligibility) (Villanova and Towson Offers)

Long Snapper

Tristan Sokach-Minnick- Graduated (no eligibility)

Offensive Line

Kassy Desir- Graduate Transfer (1 year eligibility) (Unknown Offers)

Critt Johnson- Graduated (no eligibility)

QB

Jeff Undercuffler- Transfer (2 years eligibility) (Unknown Offers)

Braeden Zenolovic- Graduate Transfer (1 year eligibility) (Unknown Offers)

TE

LJ Wesneski- Graduated (no eligibility)

WR

Mo Jabbie- Graduated (no eligibility)

Luke Garrelts- Unknown (3 or 4 years eligibility)  (Unknown offers)

Coaching Staff

Offensive Coordinator- Joe Davis; Now Offensive Coordinator at Eastern Illinois University

Offensive Line- Jim Sweeney; TBD Next Job

Special Teams / Running Backs- Damian Mincey; Now Running Backs Coach at UMASS

New Coaching Staff

Offensive Analyst / TE Coach- Mauro Monz.  Played for Gattuso at Duquense.  Coached at Robert Morris, Pitt, Duquense, West Virginia Tech, Akron, Youngstown, and four high schools in PA (Head Coach in 2014, Assistant until 2020 at two schools, Head Coach in 2020-21 (7 months), including Seton LaSalle (where Gattuso started his career and also played).  He resigned from Seton LaSalle this season after he faced a 1 year coaching ban for recruiting violations. He was appealing the ban but decided to resign instead of putting his family through the process any further.  He was hired in November of 2020 and resigned in June of 2021.  Never coached an actual game for Seton Lasalle.  He is an alumni of Seton LaSalle.  "A key concern for the WPIAL was whether Monz used a Seton LaSalle football camp this past winter as a recruiting tool, an allegation he has denied." "Administrators from four WPIAL schools — Bethel Park, Brownsville, Canon-McMillan and McGuffey — raised recruiting allegations against Monz in a hearing March 30. It was that hearing that led to his one-year suspension."  All comes from news reports...and not opinion, nor commentary from me.

Offensive Coordinator- Not named, strong rumor mill that it could be Jared Ambrose.  It would be an interesting choice as he was highly regarded before his time as OC for Delaware that just ended. He was rumored to be staying on the staff with the new HC but that did not work out.  Rumor mill also said he was handcuffed by Rocco at Delaware and couldn't run the high powered offense he was known for running.  He is the brother of Towson HC Ambrose.

Offensive Line- Byham is still a CO-OLine coach.  Unsure if a new coach will be brought in to replace Sweeney.

Other- Gattuso mentioned he is looking to solidify the staff further (could be hires/ promotions (per the TU Story).

Couple of comments:

1) All things considered, i would have thought we lost more.  Mildly surprised.  Verse was likely going anyway unless we rose to JMU level.

2) If it is Ambrose, Joey Carino fits quite well as his game is much like Tommy Flacco's.  Ambrose was the OC when Flacco lit up the CAA.

The Spring Roster was out there the day after Undercluffer entered the portal....without his name and others that had entered the portal... took as a signal as you are either with us or against us .....

Yeah, partially true and partially untrue. kassy dessir entered today or yesterday.  His name was removed from the roster.  When a player enters the portal, the school can officially revoke their scholarships. My guess is their scholarships were revoked and then the roster was put up. And by revoked it could be revoked in many different ways. Hopefully the school, which means the program, allowed any kid who wanted to stay through the spring to stay. My guess is many of these kids are trying to get into the next school for the spring semester anyway so it's Irrelevant. Scholarships are yearly single renewed scholarships, and when the contract is broken via the portal the school does not have to honor the scholarship any longer.

Funny, but the Eastern Illinois announcement didn’t mention the UA complete offensive train wreck of 2021. If Joe gets credit for all the 2019 success, he gets a lot of the blame for 2021.

With the exception of Verse who is going big time  as predicted the majority of transfers are below Albany. Robert Morris and several with no schooL in place. One transfer on the same level (Villanova.-Towson) I bet  you see a couple stay with UA. Even money says Undercuffler stays with Albany.

I would have liked to see GG bring in some high quality asst coaches. He has 3 years now. If we get the guy from Delaware he will be coming with players!

I agree with Dane96, my guess for Offensive Coordinator, Jared Ambrose from Delaware.  No announcement but posted on twitter it was the family's last Christmas in Delaware AND all of the current coaching staff and a bunch of the players are on his follower list and he is following them.

Here is a short biography:  Jared Ambrose started as a student assistant at NCAA II Shepherd, leading the team to a 29-5 record and three straight undefeated West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships.

He then was an assistant coach at Delaware, coaching on the offense and specifically Joe Flacco.

He then was at Towson for 10 years, and 7 as the team’s offensive coordinator. During his time with the Tigers, he was a part of three FCS Playoff appearances, including a run to the 2013 National Championship game.

He returned to Delaware as offensive coordinator for three years.

I maintained this all season.  May be a great QB coach but that does not necessarily transfer to OFF Coordinator. Incredibly boneheaded calls all the time.  Have to know who your players are AND what to call when if the game plan is not working.  And that  MUST be planned out in advance.  Looked like he was pulling them out of his ass some times.  NOT prepared for situations OR for time management at all, how many TO's were called when the play should have been on the field already?  That is the Offensive Coordinator not being prepared.

I would guess that hiring is not over yet. Likely waiting until after the first to announce Ambrose if he is it.  I would also think the new OC would have a LOT of input into a new OLine coach.  Just my thoughts on it.
