  1. I was asked this question the other day. An easy one for me but I know there are some of you whose acrimony towards Siena is far, far greater than mine.
  2. This is just a guess but if Duell were to come to UA wouldn't he transfer to HVCC next year and then transfer over the following year? That would mean he wouldn't use a scholarship until 07-08 and they could give the remaining one to someone else. Hopefully another midwest player. For the record I'd like having a local player on the roster.
  3. That exactly what I'm talking about. But maybe with a digital camera so you can take some pictures too!
  4. I've read a couple of things about a recruit visiting today. Will anyone on campus be keeping an eye out for him?
  5. I suspect there are going to be ALOT more season ticket holders next year (thanks in large part to Will Brown) to help defray that cost.
  6. You guys are of course free to post what you like. I will ask that you consider the fact that it's not unheard for recruits or potential recruits to read fans message boards. I'd hate to think of a guy considering coming to Albany to read that he's "not wanted" by the fans when we don't know what the coaching staff has in mind. I'm not saying I know anything about this particular sitation. Just asking that you consider it in the future.
  7. I know the question wasn't to me but I think Anderson is more of a shooting guard or small forward. A potential HUGE backcourt with him (6'5) at SG and Lillis (6'5) at the point.
  8. As much as I like Iati I'm with those who'd put Siggers in the starting lineup. He makes for a better defensive team and I may be biased but he probably would have started for just about any other team in out conference. He has all the tools and I am a big fan. I will wait and see on our freshman. Gifford looks great on paper but we'll have to see. The guy who might be good out of the gate is Yocum. He seems like a smart, team player who should pick up his role quickly. That said I like Covington to start the season.
  9. Pretty amazing a couple of days after the game to find out just how many people watched that game around here. Not just basketball fans but people who may have never watched a college baskeball game in their life were watching on Friday. I had to laugh when someone in my office was describing the game. He kept saying "we" played well, I thought "we" could hang on. A few years ago when Albany struggled it was "your guys" played terrible, now it's "we." I'm not complaining-welcome aboard new Albany fans. "We" are glad you're here.
  10. Probably the most complimentary things he said about us wasn't intentional. Right after the game he talked about juggling different lineups trying to find someone to stop Wilson from driving and creating. The fact that Albany dictated play to the degree that the hall of fame coach had to shuffle his McDonald's All-America lineup around is the ultimate compliment.
  11. A ton of Albany stories today. I like this quote from Brown in Record: "That is what makes me so proud. We have quality student-athletes in our program. I wouldn't trade these kids for any other kids in the country, and I mean that. I sleep well at night. We have a great group of kids. I knew we were going to get to this point. Now, I'm not going to rest and I'm not going to take off. I want to get back here, and I want to get back here next year." 12. Glad to see Zo prove us wrong tonight. A block, couple of assists and perfect from the line. Couldn't have asked for more from him. Head to head Zo 12 pts Hilton Armstrong 3 pts
  13. It's the first one where the underdog fights valiantly and loses in the end. In the sequel he pulls out the victory....
  14. After playing in obscurity these past few years all the attention to the team has been almost surreal to me. Capped off by the game tonight. Had to say to the person next to me-"are we really up 10 on UConn in the second half?" Outstanding effort tonight. Proud of this team, coaches and administration who built it all.
  15. "You'll be able to spit nails, kid. Like the guy says, you're gonna eat lightning and you're gonna crap thunder. You're gonna become a very dangerous person." -Mickey Goldmill
  16. Hadn't looked at it that way. That's pretty funny. Thought you might enjoy this ad that was in today's paper. I wasn't able to post it here but it says good luck Danes from your friends at Siena. We have friends at Siena-Who Knew? Classy move on their part.

  18. Feature in his hometown paper about David Bauman making it to the big dance. Freeport grad reveling in March Madness-Pittsburgh Tribune
  19. Transferring to HVCC seems strange because Duell is already a soph at UVM. I don't know that you could go Juco as a junior and then go someplace else. Agree with Weave that he is a solid player and could contribute.
  20. Not to beat this topic to death but a question about the tickets through the Univeristy. Was it ever written anywhere that they were starting with the longest tenured season ticket holders? Just wanted to know if that was a stated policy or a guess on the part of season ticket holders.

  22. Going by RPI there are four teams below us right now. Hampton, Southern, Monmouth and Oral Roberts (barely). I'm not sure how many other conference tourneys there are today but a #15 would be nice.
  23. Not to dwell on what was the only negative from yesterday but that was disappointing to say the least. For a professional broadcaster to intentionally create such an akward moment and what should be a fun event was pretty dumb.
  24. Great to meet you too 96. Also Haggyland who we met at the Pub later in the night. We tried to hook you two Boston guys up but you must have taken off already. Look forward to seeing you in Boston next year if not sooner. Hopefully the circumstances will be the same as this year!
